A new poem called 'Saved'

This is a poem I recently wrote called 'Saved'

Saved

Sometimes we fall down.
Sometimes we need a helping hand
to pick us up from the ground.

Battered and bruised.
Mocked and ridiculed.

Sometimes our problems are overwhelming,
Sometimes they make us feel like we’re drowning.

Sometimes we feel alone,
and we fear the unknown.

Sometimes the pain gets so bad,
all we want is a way out.

Other times we’ll do anything we can
just to drown it all out.

But it doesn’t have to be that way.
The sky doesn’t always have to be that grey.

Do you know what I do when I feel dismayed?

I look up. And I pray.
And I watch the grey sky fade away.

There’s nothing more uplifting
than knowing that God is forgiving.

God’s gift to us is grace,
even though we make so many mistakes.

I’m not saying faith makes all your problems go away.
I’m saying faith helps you cope
because Jesus Chris gives you hope.

Replace your emptiness by trusting Jesus,
because once we’re saved, he never leaves us.

He chose to die for us on the cross that day,
so great is his glory; he wouldn’t have it any other way.

He was in control of everything that day,
He could have called on an army of angels ready to obey.

Jesus Chris is our savior.
They call him the Redeemer; he is our healer.

He made a blind man see,
so imagine what he can do for you and me.

I don’t know what you’re going through,
but I have something profound to tell you.

Have you ever wondered why the world can be so cruel?

We live in a fallen state.
It goes back to when Adam and Eve took satan’s bait.

We’re all destined for hell
because of how Adam and Eve fell.

But here’s the good news.
It’s called the Gospel given to Paul, the Apostle.

It took me a long time to learn this lesson;
you have to put your trust in Jesus Christ to go to heaven.

You think you’re sinking in the sand,
but Jesus Christ is reaching out his hand.

All this time, you thought you were alone,
when the Lord was standing right there
ready to guide you home.

I was once lost, just like you,
and I didn’t know what to do.

But now I praise and give thanks to the Lord
because he gave the apostle Paul the Gospel,
and the change it’s had on my life is colossal.

First Corinthians fifteen verses one to four;
this is scripture you should not ignore.

Listen to what Paul has to say.
Jesus Christ died for our sins.

He was buried,
and he rose again on the third day
just like it says in the scripture.

When I read this it painted a brighter picture.

And he did it at his own expense,
just read the bible, and it will all make sense.

So get up off the ground.
Don’t let satan drag you down.

Let the blood of Christ wash away your sin,
and watch the Lord change you from within.

Jesus Christ is God manifest in the flesh.
He is the Messiah.
King of Kings.
The Son of Man.
Lord of All.
Immanuel.

It still blows my mind to think
there’s someone up in the sky,
who loves me so much
that he’s willing to die.

The pain he went through
makes me want to cry.

They nailed Jesus Christ to the cross,
and they put a crown of thorns on his head.
But do you know what he said?

“Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do.”

Could you forgive someone who did that to you?

Someone who took piercing nails
and used them to impale you.

Jesus did.

Hello AndrewFrater;

Thank you for sharing A new poem called 'Saved'

I was up at 4am this morning in California, went into prayer over a lot of things, and then I logged on and read your poem.

It spoke to me with a wakeup call. How amazing that our Lord and Savior who loves us is a great way to start the day.

God bless you, AndrewFrater, and your family.

bobinfaith. Amen to that! Our Lord is truly amazing!

Thank you so much for taking the time to read my poem. I'm glad you enjoyed it.

I also produced a video version of the poem to try reach people with the gospel in different ways. I'm happy to share it here if you'd like to see.

God bless you and your family too.

Hey AndrewFrater;

Do you prefer AndrewFrater or can we call you Andrew?

How much time did it take to produce Saved, getting the actors, narrator and musician. No doubt it was fun, eh?

Yes, please do feel free to call me Andrew.

It probably took about a week to produce everything from writing the poem to final edit. The voice-over was done by a fellow Christian (who also happens to be a professional voice-over artist). I've turned five of my poems into video productions so far and he has done the voice-overs for all of them in his studio.

In terms of the film shots, back in my early twenties, I went to Film and Drama School were I gained some basic knowledge that helps me, however, I source the video footage from film industry stock footage which I then licence along with the music which I also licence. I then put everything together in an editing program and publish them to my Christian Poetry Reads channel on YouTube.

Since getting saved in 2019 I've felt a growing desire to serve the Lord, so now I use all the writing, editing and production skills I've learn't in the past to create spoken word poetry short films to honor Jesus Christ and to share the gospel with people who are lost like I used to be.

Hello Andrew;

I'm a musician and years ago we recorded a CD and the production was a lot of fun. It was the first time we ever recorded.

I'm going to send Saved to my church family today. Some of the members, though hearing the Word, they still linger with personal struggles but poetry and music blesses the soul.

God bless you, Andrew, and thank you for sharing.

The creative process is a lot of fun 😄

Thank you for offering to sharing the poem with your Church family. I'm very grateful for that. God bless you too.
