A Risen Messiah

1 Corinthians 15:14, 19, 20
"And if Christ be not risen, then our preaching is in vain, and your faith is also in vain. (19) If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable. (20) But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the first fruits of them that slept."

As Christians we serve a risen Savior. He lives and he reigns. This we must believe and this we must know for it is the power of the risen Messiah that we need. If Jesus was not resurrected then our faith is in vain, and our hope is in vain, and we become as those who have no hope. Our hope is in Jesus, the Lamb of God who rose from the dead. It is the power of the risen Messiah that we need. We need his indwelling spirit to lift us when we are weak and we need him to be the finisher of our faith when our faith can take us no further. We must put to death self and the ways of the flesh so that we can diminish, for when we are empty Jesus can fill us and when we are diminished our risen Messiah will be increased within us.
