I have a Bible app on my phone and I'm on a plan to read the Bible in a year. I personally like it, because I'm not focusing on 1 book, but on 4 different books. And for each day, it covers different sections of the Bible: The Psalms and Wisdom Literature, Pentateuch and History of Israel, Chronicles and Prophets, and Gospels and Epistles. So for today, I'm reading Genesis 1, 1 Chronicles 1, Luke 1:1-25, and Ecclesiastes 3:1-8.
Hi there xspinningisfun.
I've Just come across your reply as I flitted through a few subjects in here.
I was drawn to your aim of reading the Bible in one year, though you don't actually need to race through it in one year, I understand your decision to do so.
Way back in 1976 I myself decided I would like to read the Bible from Genesis to Revelations.
Every spare minute I had was dedicated to reading it. I never put a time frame on it however, it turned out I spent an entire year doing so.
Providing I never become puffed up with pride, I discovered it was an excellent and satisfactory exercise, I will never forget it.
Simply being aware I did so, is something very special to me, the only person I've mentioned it to is my wife.
Every now and again the memory comes to mind, indeed just as your post has done. Thank you for the memory.
Not that I would find it wrong in doing so, I wouldn't aim to do so again.
Providing I haven't popped my clogs beforehand, you must post in your completion in one of your posts next year or whenever you finished the read.
I must tell my wife of your intent.
Best wishes in your endeavor.
