Hey, everyone I'm Subh from India and recently I've given my heart,mind and soul to jesus on 25th December despite of having a hindu family . All my family members are Hindu but I'm not on 25th I've terminated my faith from Hinduism from my heart and put my faith to Christianity . My parents are against it but I don't care I know Jesus will guide them one day and then they'll be Christian also . I also ordered christ's portrait to honor and worship christ through it and I will keep that portrait in my room . Next year I'm going to other city will be living alone thus it'll help me to emphasize more on Christ . Due to family circumstances I'm not yet baptized . But I have accepted Jesus as my Saviour on 25th from my heart and will never retreat, despite of what difficulties I will face from parents , relatives but I'll keep walking with Christ till the end . Everyone kindly pray for me and my family . Amen

I say this out of brotherly love in Christ. I caution you about using a picture of Jesus in your worship, the portrait is an artist's rendering of what they think Jesus may look like. It is ok to have a picture of Jesus as a reminder that you are never alone and that He is always watching over you. You do not need it to worship Him, though. You can pray to Him whenever and wherever you feel the need, no other objects are needed. You have made a very wise choice to accept Jesus and I will keep you in my prayers. May God continue to guide you in His truth.

subh_0hr, this is not specific to your purchase of the portrait, but keep in mind what is written in Matthew 6:5: "And when you pray, you shall not be like the hypocrites. For they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the corners of the streets, that they may be seen by men. Assuredly, I say to you, they have their reward." Always keep in mind that this is about your relationship with God, not about how others see it.

Praying for you my friend. When you accept Christ and repent, you are at the beginning of your walk with Christ. Praying that your family will come around. As really hope you can find a church and also get baptized. You are going in the right direction.
