An Original Cartoon A Day

OUTZTANDING image of a fish, LearningToLetGo! Very warm, smooth colors. Good rendition!

"There is a place", I wrote to my Pen-Pal, "like the Twilight Zone- twilight sleep- between consciousness & sleep where images may be seen, a physical floating experience occurs, right before we drift off to sleep. Like the event of our birth, it is a space of time rarely recalled. Not unlike the event of our birth, the 'Awakening Zone', the Golden Stream of regaining consciousness, comes upon us awakening from our slumber.
We can swim in the Golden Stream for extended periods of time, lazily floating between sleep & consciousness, feeling free to go in either direction."

twilight sleep- between consciousness & sleep
Sometimes my mind awakes before my body and I lie in bed feeling completely relaxed, my muscles like water. The merest thought of movement sends energy to my body and the feeling flees, but if I am careful I can hold onto it sometimes for a minute or more.

In the past, I had dreams of being in class, forgetting tests, not having enough credits to graduate, and as a nurse had dreams of forgetting to check on my patients or other problemed situations.

After years of retirement, those dreams have decreased and now "Art Dreams" have taken their place, and most recently, I've had artsy dreams in black & white and grayscale.

Looking through an old text which I used in junior high and bought at a book sale while in high school, I noticed many illustrations used grayscale with some color thrown in:

I found this cool watercolor workbook and painted a gold fish!

Good morning, Davey Do and LearningToLetGo;

I was reading your posts and a couple of thoughts came to me. Davey's post and art piece (Quakers but Patriots came to mind) reminded me a new visitor who attended Church yesterday. She just came back from Boston (Patriots) where she studied nursing. She works as a hospice nurse and as she shared with us after Church she was very upbeat. We wish her the best as she's back home in Sunnyvale and we hope she will come back to worship with us.

I have a question regarding LearningToLetGo's watercolor workbook. Are there professional artists who display watercolor besides other types of art?

God bless
you, brothers.

GAZING upon all these FINE and beautiful works of art... I am amazed at the TALENT.

I'm having a difficult time splitting my time for just practice and then my pen-pal stuff.... AT present.. my pen-pal is getting all the art... leaving me with nothing. HAHA... Which is absolutely fine... but what I'm trying to say is that I need to START drawing for myself.

It will come... When I panic and get overwhelmed... I shut down... What I am experiencing at the moment is that I have so much to learn.

This thread is helping me to keep myself GROUNDED. This is NOT a contest or competition... and if I actually want to gauge my progress.... I have gone from NOT being able to even put a mark on a blank page TO..... the sky is the limit... so... that is HUGE.

Anyways... Please keep this thread going.... I promise I will have something to show and share soon. HA.

I do the same. Be patient with yourself. Be kind to yourself. :)

I find it helpful to keep to-do lists, sorted by importance. I use these lists to gauge my progress, scratching off items as I complete them. Sometimes it seems as if nothing is getting done, but when you see all those lovely lines as items are scratched off and completed you realize you've actually done a lot, and that feels good.
