I used to surf on the east coast. I had a 6"6 Gato Heroi board. I'm a fan of Alex Knost, Dan Malloy, and Jared Mell.

I'd love to pick it up again, but it's not convenient living in DC. Though there is a small surf community in Brooklyn who make the effort...

One author I've mentioned here before, Peter Kreeft, is an avid surfer and wrote a couple of books on them. One book he wrote is called Surfing and Spirituality. I haven't read it yet, though I should.
