That movie certainly seemed to be presenting that Superman as Jesus in tights, as a visitor from heaven, sent by His father, to be the light to humanity, with powers far beyond mortal menHello YeshuaFan and LearningToLetGo;
As kids my Mom would go the Air Force Base Exchange each week and buy comic books - Superman, Batman, Archie, Beetle Bailey, etc...
We followed Superman and Batman comics and let our imaginations run wild. My Dad was a Star Trek fan and would watch their marathons on TV.
In 1979 the first Star Trek movie came out starring all the original characters. I thought it was 1974.
In 1978 I was at the movies with a date and they showed the previews of Superman starring Christopher Reeve, Margot Kidder, Gene Hackman, Ned Beatty...You could hear chuckles from the audience at the thought of a Superman movie. Personally, I enjoyed it!
My Son and I saw the newest Superman movie, and he was shown to be a super Man, as normally he shown as being god among mortals. as a Superman but this new take its like a human with god like powersI do admire the moral lesson of Superman, i.e. a man of infinite power who uses it to serve rather than rule.
Any favorite episodes then?Superman or Star Trek?
Neither.
I was more of a Twilight Zone fan.
You mean the Strange new Worlds one?I went to the 50th anniversary at the Javits Center in NYC. Star Trek is a fave, even the newest series.

Also remembered that one when after atomic war, man was sitting in a library and had all the time in world to now read, but tripped and broke his reading glassesA couple that stood out was when they shipped a robot woman into space to alleviate the astronauts' loneliness, and he ended up becoming attached to the robot.
Another took place on a country farmhouse, where a lonely woman was visited by miniature spaceships from outer space. She became terrorized at their presence and ended up taking an ax to the spaceships, only to show during the last scene that they were USA spaceships.
At least those are two I readily recall.
Two more..
There was also one with a camera that could take pictures 10 minutes before the actual event. You can only imagine what became of that.
Then there was a man that wished every one looked and acted like him, I'll leave it to your imagination what would become of that situation.
One from a 'Christian' perspective
There was sort of a dystopia where saying the word God would put you into prison or be executed. One day, a man who was facing trial was visited by a prosecuting counselor. He convinced the prosecutor that he had a bomb that would go off at exactly a specified time. When the moment approached, the prosecutor was more convinced that the bomb was for real and with seconds to spare, the prosecutor cried out "God help me!". In the next scene. You see the prosecutor facing the same judgment.
It truly was a message about choosing God or State.
also where there was that kid who had powers like god, and terrorized entire town, turning someone into a jack in the box?Nick of Time or
Nightmare at 20,000feet?
I had thought of Nick of time, but couldn't remember enough of the details,
