Are we way too much into Politics for our own good as Christians now?

Just want to state upfront, believe should vote, and be involved in current events, but just seems that way too many time Christians are seeing their "deliverance" from politicians and parties, such as when some seem to see president Obahma as their "messiah:, and others now seem to be viewing president Trump in same light?

You make a good point. Our focus should always be on Jesus and doing God's will.

When it comes to the world's political and governmental systems, we must ask ourselves who, in the supernatural realm, owns and controls those systems. The devil offered all of these systems to Jesus if Jesus would fall down and worship him. You can't give away something you don't own. Putting faith in politics for deliverance is actually putting faith in the operstions of the devil.

I am no expert on this matter. However it is easy to find out the facts.

Without a doubt, the overwhelming backing of younger Black voters was a critical factor in Obama’s victory, according to an analysis of National Election Pool exit polls that were provided by National Public Radio. Obama drew two-thirds (66%) of the vote among those Black voters younger than age 30.

Black voters showed strong loyalty to Obama, with 93% supporting his reelection in the 2012 election. That had nothing to do with his policies or positions, only that they related to him as a Balck man.

I would then say that the majority of people who voted for Mr. Trump did so out of a deep dissatisfaction with what Biden had done over four years, not so much because they like Mr. Trump. I personally know of many, many people who voted for Mr. Trump with their noses pinched because the idea of voting for Mrs. Harris was even more repugnant than for Ms. Clinton.

I am one who does not believe that the elections turned on ones Christian faith but on failed policies.

What really concerned me about president Obama was that many Black American Christians disagreed on him over his moral issues, but felt "had to vote for a black man", which meant supporting someone who was against their very biblical standards and morals

Im not really into politics. I know people get really impassioned about their views but Im not one of those people. I try to just stick with the facts. I dont usually care to engage in political conversations, mostly because I find it boring.

Black people are emotional and often ingage in group identity. Which is why Biben was bold enough insult Black voters by proclaiming if Black Americans didn't vote for him, then they weren't really Black. Politicians always use identity and emotional politics to get to Black people and works too often.

What is quite revealing of identity politics is Colin Powell's (George W. Bush's Secretary of State) endorsement of Obama, Clinton, and Biden.

just sad when someone who is a Christian admits that they will support someone just due to his skin color, or due to him being conservative/liberal, even though their agenda and policies totally against Bible and God

And just because one claims to be a Christian does not mean auto vote, as Jimmy Carter claimed such, but was a lousy President

All SB's I know were in fact offended by Mr. Carter.

He was "Liberal" in his theology, but he is the only President in our history who carried a Bible to church every Sunday.

His real problem was that he was manipulated by the extreme liberal wing of the democrat party and then he brought with him all of his back woods country boy rednecks from Ga. to Washington and the elite there ate them alive.

Agreed.

But lets be correct. He was part of the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship.
That is an offshoot of the SBC which includes the :IBERAL churches that choose to be involved.

For instance, the Associated Press reported that Carter “disaffiliated from Southern Baptists,” CNN noted he “cut ties with” the SBC, and Fox News said that he resigned from the SBC. But Carter didn’t become a “none” or religiously unaffiliated.

If denominational identification didn’t matter, then the news articles would just call him a “Baptist” instead of writing “Southern Baptist.” But hundreds of articles added the word “Southern” while never mentioning “Cooperative.” Explaining his new denominational home adds context to his spiritual journey and helps explain his faith. After all, not all Baptists are the same — which is precisely why Carter spent the last years of his life as a Cooperative Baptist instead of a Southern Baptist.

He was without any doubt on my understanding a saved man. He was also a captain of a nuclear submarine. That means he was really intelligent. However, his understanding of Scriptures was extremely liberal.

while we cant say who is or who is not.. anyone holding to scriptures that does not line up with the word raises a big red flag. as per what assoc he was affiliated with i have no idea .. you can be the most intelligent man still miss heaven

he and President Bush Jr both had same problem. of trying to act "nice" and be "presidential" in their behavior towards others, but washington DC is a real cesspool full of sharks
