Believing in Jesus alone does not get you into heaven?

Well, its more like, those who do believe in a "higher power", normally believe in a false god of some type. Look at the Romans. Greeks, Medes and Persians, Babylon and many others, all having thier own false gods, along with tiny little tribes of people, no one knows about as yet.

But, heres another point- God declares that the whole world has to hear of His Word preached, all nations, but not every ear.

People do not realize, as with the saved seeing thier works investigated and our recieving or losing treasures in Heaven according to them, so also the unsaved shall recieve thier level of torment according to works done on earth.

This can include if good natured or bad, never heard the Gospel so ignorant, or having heard but rejected it, etc, etc. We can be sure, God will apply righteous judgement upon everyone according to many different things. But God declares, even if all a Child of His works burn, they shall still enter Heaven, as if tried by fire.

They may lose all treasures stored up, but, they will still enter Heaven. Jesus also speaks of how if God's Children should break any of the least Commandments and teach others to do so, they will still be in Heaven, but be the least there.

Then Jesus said, those who follow the least of the Commandments and teach others to follow them also, shall be great in the Kingdom.

Try living in China or other Countries, where I know several Missionaries personally thru our Church, operating "underground Christianity" there and other areas. But, the "Body of Christ" is growing, even tho needs to be hidden from the governing system.

God will see His Children overcome and help save more souls.

The people gladly received and thanked them saying- we have always known there was one true God, thank you for telling us His Name. God is reaching souls in surprising places. Pilgrim Tract Society delivers bibles to remote areas. Something different you don't ever hear about. No missionaries, no face to face. Just spreadinng the word by giving away bibles and tracts. But I wonder where they get all the money.

According to the works theres great amout of treasures reseived.

But never heard of having a level of torment according to the amout of evil works.

Too bad theres older folks like in their late 20's, early thirties who still haven't chosen Jesus. I wonder about them. What caused them to ingnore a wonderful being, kind, gentle, loving as Jesus.
 
Paul made an interesting statement where he said the kingsdom of God is not in words but in power if romans is read it explains so much of what true faith is and what it means to be saved please dont missunderstyand my stateent but i feel like a lot of what has been and is being taught is sub christian exp;erience by ministries that realy dont understand the power of the gospel no the power of Gods Holy Spirit im not sayiong this about all ministrie example i i read a portion of scripture to a minister it was romabns 6:7 only those who have died to sin through Christ Jesus have been freed from sin and his reply to me was that i was decieved for qouting that passage of scripture since i becam a christian ive been told that im nothing but a saved sinner and yes Jesus came to save sinners i thank God He did but as i read the scriptures and hear and see what is being preached in many churches thee is a great difference im not trying to be difficult nor critical im just searching for the truth like evry other believer quite honestly im not happy with how my life is and ive got no one t blame but myself for falling into sin but i will say thi i have tasted the freedom that is in Christ Jesus and i give God all the glory because its only by His grace and by His grace thats where i always want to live and He promised so can rest assured dear brother in Chrfist that posed this be encouraged God lves you and there is much more for you in Christ Jesus read Gods word and pray and ask God to fill your heart and life with His Holy Spirit ask Jesu of Nazzareth to baptize yyou with His Holy Spirit and fire He promised its all inHis word ask and you shall recieve seek and you shall find knock and the doorwill be openned God wants to fill you wit His Holy Sp[irit seek God my friend and pray and believ until He meets with you and He will i9n Jesus mighty and precious name amen God Bles you

I am sorry but my eyes need to enlarge your passage and you make some very valid and profound and truthful statements. Praise God .

Yes only Jesus Christ can offer us freedom from our sins. And yes He is the way the truth and the life. But it does not end there. We are still given " choice" and what we do with God's freedom is part and parcel of our continuing journey with Jesus Christ , first in our life in everything we do and say.

No , I am not saying we are perfect and never will be but we must run the race by reading His Word, Putting the Word into our hearts and minds , Praying and loving others more than ourselves. That is our mandate.

We will and do make mistakes but if we ask , we shall be forgiven. He is faithful and just to forgive us . We are human in human bodies and therefore we will make mistakes. But we know we have a loving God who understands and is all knowing and knows what we are going to do before we even do it. But He wants us to confess.

We cannot look to the left or the right but must press on towards the mark , Christ Jesus . He must be our all sufficient ,number one, person in our lives .

If we hunger and thirst for righteousness .... we will be filled . He will fill our cup to overflowing with goodness and mercy for the rest of our days so that we will dwell in the house of the Lord forever. ..... Amen.


God loves you and me so much. How can we even fathum the love He has for us . It is beyond our wildest imagination. We will never know in our natural bodies but some day when we are with Him ... we will know and it will be worth it all when we see Jesus.
 
So bottom line to the title of the thread " Believing In Jesus alone does not get you into heaven. "

You can believe in your head but unless and untill you beleive in your heart and mind it is just head knowledge. There are a lot of good people who believe and do good works but that will not get them into the kingdom.
 
So true my sister in Christ i read His word and i pray night and day and fast ui know Jesus said not to blow our trumpets but i truly love Him and im living the best i know how according to His word im not out there livng in sin and i realize i sin from time to time and this frustrates mne to no end only by grace God is good Jesus is LOrd

We need Gods word His love HIs power His Spirit His will for our lives to God alone be the Glory throufgh His Precious amnd Mighty Son Jesus of Nazareth Glory to His Mighy and Majestic Name throughout eternal ages JESUS CHRIST IS LORD OF ALL

I was not referring to your post " Wounded " And don't think for a moment that you have been misunderstood my dear cause I know that you love the Lord with all your heart , all your mind and all your spirit.

It was a thought that the Holy Spirit put into my mind to post. I love you with all the love of the Lord . I appreciate your posts and we are here to lift each other up and encourage each other so hope I have not offended you. Know that you are loved and valued here .You are precious in the eyes of God. and He loves you so much.

Please tell me if I have upset you in any way because that is not the way I want to minister to my brothers and sisters and for any one else , I would rather you told me right away instead of harbouring any bitterness or anger because that is not my intent.

And ' Wounded" I do recognize that you are going through a lot and we are here for you as the body of Christ to help in any way we can. My brother I feel your pain and I am not just saying that cause we have all been there at one time. But I found when I was going through my deepest pain , that is when I cried out to God and He was ever so close to me . I felt His presence saying that all will be well and tomorrow will be a better day. . If we hold on to Him, He will never let us down . and I am thinking of the time when Peter wanted to walk on the water to Jesus. All Peter did was take his eyes off of Jesus for a moment and he felt himself sinking . And I never thought about it before but Peter was a very good swimmer and was not that far from the boat but he forgot all that and cried out to the Lord and what did Jesus do ? He stretched out His hand and reaced for Peter. So my dear just put out your hand and reach for Jesus . He is there and he will never let you.sink.

God Bless you my brother and I don't know what you are going through but Christ knows and He see all , but you do not have to go through it alone. We are here for you but most of all He is there for you.

i don't know if this has been stated already or not, but i would like to bring up two passages in Romans:

Romans 1:5
through whom we have received grace and apostleship to bring about the obedience of faith among all the Gentiles for His name's sake

Romans 16:26
but now is manifested, and by the Scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the eternal God, has been made known to all the nations, leading to obedience of faith

it is important to remember that faith isn't about believing, but obedience. this doesn't mean we will not sin (we should all be aware that we do), but i would hope these two passages would inspire people and put the word "faith" in a different light. culture today would teach that faith is about what you think...but it is not that at all. it is our very state of existing. when we are saved, our body, mind, and soul are reborn in a different state then they were before...one that acknowledges Jesus as the Lord and Savior and seeks to be "obedient" to him.

on another note, i think this is an appropriate place to ask this question:

what should we interpret Romans 2:14 to mean?

Romans 2:14
For when Gentiles who do not have the Law do instinctively the things of the Law, these, not having the Law, are a law to themselves

i'm not quite sure if this is referring to the old Law or the new, so please read the rest of Romans 2, but does this mean that people who haven't heard about Christ will be saved? can a person be elect without having ever heard about the gospel? i mean, i wouldn't put it past God, as he can do whatever he wants, but i am not sure how this jives with the rest of scripture...an explanation is welcomed :)
