Big Moose's favorite Bible verses

Not sure I can do this everyday, but from time to time I will pop in to post another.

Romans 8:
38 For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, 39 nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

What a powerful connection we have through Christ.

Psalm 123 KJV
1 Unto thee lift I up mine eyes, O thou that dwellest in the heavens.
2 Behold, as the eyes of servants look unto the hand of their masters, and as the eyes of a maiden unto the hand of her mistress; so our eyes wait upon the Lord our God, until that he have mercy upon us.
3 Have mercy upon us, O Lord, have mercy upon us: for we are exceedingly filled with contempt.
4 Our soul is exceedingly filled with the scorning of those that are at ease, and with the contempt of the proud.

This is how I feel many times working in retail through the holiday season. I therefore remember how much I have really been though, and find thanksgiving in HIS great mercy to make it through. For HE is the reason for the season, not the shoppers.

Nice thread, Big Moose :) Hope you dont mind others posting...

I don't mind at all. Sharing favorite verses was a great idea, so I jumped in to start a thread like some others here did. Verse 4 reminded me of the recent election.
I see how this brings comfort and describes your work in retail. I bet the help you provide to others outweighs the scorn and rudeness the shoppers so often exude. Just know there are many of us out here who appreciate you.

Deuteronomy 30:
11 “For this commandment which I command you today is not too mysterious for you, nor is it far off. 12 It is not in heaven, that you should say, ‘Who will ascend into heaven for us and bring it to us, that we may hear it and do it?’ 13 Nor is it beyond the sea, that you should say, ‘Who will go over the sea for us and bring it to us, that we may hear it and do it?’ 14 But the word is very near you, in your mouth and in your heart, that you may do it. 15 “See, I have set before you today life and good, death and evil,
(Jump to v. 19)
19 I call heaven and earth as witnesses today against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live;

God says clearly that we make the choice of what we follow and put into our lives. Life ..........or death? Our choice is made with our mouth in what we say, in our heart where it becomes our focus so that in what we say and put effort into becomes what we do. Let's make life our aim so that love becomes our purpose.

John 18:
37Pilate therefore said to Him, “Are You a king then?”

Jesus answered, “You say rightly that I am a king. For this cause I was born, and for this cause I have come into the world, that I should bear witness to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth hears My voice.

38Pilate said to Him, “What is truth?” And when he had said this, he went out again to the Jews, and said to them, “I find no fault in Him at all.

Even in Pilate's time, truth was in the eye of the beholder. We hear today, things like, "I hear you speaking your truth." or, "This is my truth." We see in Jesus' response that the truth is evident and Jesus bears witness to the truth. Those who know the truth or is in the truth hears Jesus and His Spirit. Jesus insinuates that a king should bear witness to the truth. Kings then were the essence of a nation or country's leader, so we should take from this that our leaders should be representing (bearing witness of) the truth.
