Blessed Assurance

'That their hearts might be comforted,
being knit together in love,
and unto all riches of the full assurance of understanding,
to the acknowledgement of the mystery of God,
and of the Father, and of Chris
t;
In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.'
(Col 2:2,3)

Hello there,

The second chapter of Colossians has been a blessing to me recently, and the verse above particularly so. For when I came to know the Lord Jesus Christ as my Saviour, my understanding was very limited. I had heard and believed that the Lord Jesus Christ had died for me, taking the penalty for my sin upon Himself. At twelve years, that was about the limit of my understanding. That is the same for most of us I believe.

It took many years for that seed of faith to grow and flourish, and it was not until much later that I was brought, through the operation of the Holy Spirit, by His Word, into the full assurance of understanding, and to the acknowledgement of the mystery of God, and of the Father - which is Christ Himself in all His fullness.

To the assurance of the completeness of the Work of God, in Christ Jesus, in His death, resurrection and ascension. The fullness of God's wondrous grace and the all-encompassing nature of His acceptance of us, in the Beloved.

I am so grateful for the love of God in Christ Jesus.
We truly are His workmanship.

In Christ Jesus
Chris
