But Wait!

It is the way of humankind and the fallacies of this world that lead us to adding to the message of salvation.

Colossians 2:8 (NASB) - "See to it that there is no one who takes you captive through philosophy and empty deception in accordance with human tradition, in accordance with the elementary principles of the world, rather than in accordance with Christ."

"See to it" - The KJV says, "Behold"; G991, "REGARD".
"Captive" - The KJV says, "Spoil"; G4812, "SEDUCE".
"Human tradition" - The KJV says, "Tradition of men"; G3862 & G444 "PRECEPTS OF HUMANKIND". Specifically, Jewish law.

Colossians 2:9 (NASB) - "For in Him all the fullness of Deity dwells in bodily form".

  • Summary of these two verses in words my little brain can process:

Disregard the things of the Old Law and remember my completeness is in Him. Do not add anything to what it takes to be a Christian. He did it all at the cross! Satan would have us believe that there is more that we can do to become a Christian. He only seeks to tear us down and make us believe we are inadequate as we exist in Christ. We are freed slaves of sin and there is nothing that anyone can do to take us away from Jesus because we wear His name on our foreheads.
