As a former law enforcement officer of 21 years, it is truly sad for me to hear of these senseless, violent acts against the innocent. We just learned that the Pastor was killed and several are hospitalized including the one doing the deeds. Illinois has some of the most stringent firearms laws in the United States - but what good is that? It just shows that the citizens can not be armed for personal protection, while the criminals can do what they wish.
Our condolences and heartfelt prayers go out to the victims and families and at the same time, we are calling for the Attorney General in the State of Illinois to personally lead the prosecution of the individual who did this criminal homicide and who is now in custody at the regional hospital.
