PAKISTAN: TWO CHURCHES BOMBED
from: The Voice of The Martyrs website - http://www.persecution.com/
Suicide bombers attacked two churches as parishioners worshiped Sunday morning, March 15, in east Lahore, Pakistan, killing at least 17 people and wounding 78 others. A spokesman for the Pakistani Taliban claimed responsibility for the attacks and threatened more.

The bombings, which hit Catholic and Protestant churches, occurred minutes apart in the Christian neighborhood of Youhanabad. The two churches are roughly 650 yards apart.

Witnesses reported that four security guards and police who were assigned to the churches died tackling the attackers, preventing even more injuries and deaths.

Christians in Pakistan are increasingly targeted by extremist Sunni Muslim militants and are often discriminated against in their daily lives.

VOM is currently assessing the needs of those affected by the bombings and will soon respond. VOM sources in Pakistan ask for prayers for increased faith and peaceful, forgiving hearts for the Christians affected by the attacks, and forgiveness for those responsible.
