"And He was saying to them, 'The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers (G2041; toiler; figuratively teacher) are few; therefore plead (ask or petition) with the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.'" Luke 10:2 (NASB)
"Go; behold, I am sending you out like lambs in the midst of wolves." Luke 10:3 (NASB)
So, let me get this straight, Lord. You want me to go out there in the midst of the wolves to work your harvest?
Yes, yes indeed. But, not just any old lambs will do. Lambs as in rams (G704; possibly G730: strong male). Now we're talking! We sheep are rams among the wolves. We aren't their mutton meal, we are their competition. Joshua 1:9 says, "Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous! Do not be terrified nor dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”
Being strong and courageous is a little easier in this world when you have horns on your head to protect yourself with a whole heard of other rams. It was a blast from a ram's horn that signaled the collapse of the walls of Jericho. It was horns for the corners of the altar. We Christian's are a formidable foe to Hell.
G7160 - Horn: a horn (as projecting); by implication a flask, cornet; by resemblance an elephant’s tooth (that is, ivory), a corner (of the altar), a peak (of a mountain), a ray (of light); figuratively power: - X hill, horn.
