Confidence in God

In Whom, because of our faith in Him, we dare to have the boldness (courage and confidence) of free access (an unreserved approach to God with freedom and without fear).
Ephesians 3:12 AMPC
http://bible.com/8/eph.3.12.AMPC

For it is through Him that we both [whether far off or near] now have an introduction (access) by one [Holy] Spirit to the Father [so that we are able to approach Him].
Ephesians 2:18 AMPC
http://bible.com/8/eph.2.18.AMPC

So in order to have confidence in God, we need to have faith. And how does faith work? Faith works by love (Galatians 5:6)
For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by love.
Galatians 5:6 KJV
http://bible.com/1/gal.5.6.KJV

Characteristics of love....
Love is patient and kind, not jealous, not boastful, not proud, rude or selfish, not easily angered, and it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not gloat over other people’s sins but takes its delight in the truth. Love always bears up, always trusts, always hopes, always endures.
1 Corinthians (1 Co) 13:4‭-‬7 CJB
http://bible.com/1275/1co.13.4-7.CJB

Love endures long and is patient and kind; love never is envious nor boils over with jealousy, is not boastful or vainglorious, does not display itself haughtily. It is not conceited (arrogant and inflated with pride); it is not rude (unmannerly) and does not act unbecomingly. Love (God's love in us) does not insist on its own rights or its own way, for it is not self-seeking; it is not touchy or fretful or resentful; it takes no account of the evil done to it [it pays no attention to a suffered wrong]. It does not rejoice at injustice and unrighteousness, but rejoices when right and truth prevail. Love bears up under anything and everything that comes, is ever ready to believe the best of every person, its hopes are fadeless under all circumstances, and it endures everything [without weakening].
1 Corinthians 13:4‭-‬7 AMPC
http://bible.com/8/1co.13.4-7.AMPC

But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;
Matthew 5:44 KJV
http://bible.com/1/mat.5.44.KJV

To show that you are the children of your Father Who is in heaven; for He makes His sun rise on the wicked and on the good, and makes the rain fall upon the upright and the wrongdoers [alike]. For if you love those who love you, what reward can you have? Do not even the tax collectors do that? And if you greet only your brethren, what more than others are you doing? Do not even the Gentiles (the heathen) do that? You, therefore, must be perfect [growing into complete maturity of godliness in mind and character, having reached the proper height of virtue and integrity], as your heavenly Father is perfect. [Lev. 19:2, 18.]
Matthew 5:45‭-‬48 AMPC
http://bible.com/8/mat.5.45-48.AMPC

In Mt 5: 48 the word perfect means (complete, mature, finished Strong's Definition: From G5056;complete (in various applications of labor, growth, mental and moral character, etc.); neuter (as noun, with G3588)completeness: - of full age)....and is not talking about or referring to perfect, like we know it. It's having a perfect heart, one that's in line with God and His Word of ways (Mt 6:33)
But seek (aim at and strive after) first of all His kingdom and His righteousness (His way of doing and being right), and then all these things taken together will be given you besides.
Matthew 6:33 AMPC
http://bible.com/8/mat.6.33.AMPC...and is willing to do all He commands. Its why king David was said to be a man after God's own heart. It's not that He didn't make mistakes, but that he has a repentant heart when he missed the mark.

Excellent comments. Jesus told us that Love is the one and only thing that binds us together. However, did you know that love is unnatural?????

I have been to Disney World about a million times. My brother in law has worked there from its inception. I have 5 grandchildren and you know what that means. Now if you ever go notice the characters, Mickey and Minnie, and Goofy and so on around the park. Now look around a little closer at the men close to them. They are "guards" for those characters.

Why would Mickey Mouse need a guard???

Because over the years Disney came to realize that there are people who attack them.

Why????

Because Hate is natural.

Now lets dig a little deeper. Why do we find anger and animosity and confrontational attitudes from our brothers and sisters in Christ on Christian web sites? Now that is not an observation but instead a known fact. IF it is not a fact then why does every Christian web site have moderators to keep the peace?

Why is it so hard to love those who are different from us? Why does hostility come more easily to us than love?

IMO, and only my opinion, we don’t display love because love is uncontrollable.

Bible Example:.......Have you noticed all the times in Christ’s ministry when people did inappropriate things and he admonished the critics, not the people themselves?

Remember the time when the children swarmed all over the Messiah. The disciples tried to stop them and Jesus said, “Let them come…”

In Matt. 26 the prostitute who showed up at the church supper and Simon’s comment about Christ’s inappropriate actions toward her. Jesus said, “Simon, I have something to say to you…”.

In Luke 10, Mary sitting at Jesus’ feet while Martha prepared dinner. Martha criticized and Jesus responded, “Martha, Mary has chosen the better part.

I do not have the room here to post all the others but there are many, many more. In almost all of these incidents. About right now you are asking...............what is the old Majors point????

IMHO we have the evidence of what besets us as human beings whether we are Christians or not. I believe we see the primary sin of our lives---------the need to be right, the need to be good and, above all, the need to control others’ perceptions of our rightness and goodness.

Hence the answer to Why is love so unnatural? Because Control is so natural.

Any thoughts my dear sister???

My first thought is
Such hope never disappoints or deludes or shames us, for God's love has been poured out in our hearts through the Holy Spirit Who has been given to us.
Romans 5:5 AMPC
http://bible.com/8/rom.5.5.AMPC

It's all abut crucifing that old natural nature, and making the choice to walk in the Love that God has already (first) poured into our hearts (spirits) when we were born again. And to consistently stay in the Word so as to allow it (The Living Word) transform our behaviors into being Christ like..or exactly like our Saviors. (Romans 12:2)

Galatians 5 says it best....
But I say, walk and live [habitually] in the [Holy] Spirit [responsive to and controlled and guided by the Spirit]; then you will certainly not gratify the cravings and desires of the flesh (of human nature without God). For the desires of the flesh are opposed to the [Holy] Spirit, and the [desires of the] Spirit are opposed to the flesh (godless human nature); for these are antagonistic to each other [continually withstanding and in conflict with each other], so that you are not free but are prevented from doing what you desire to do. But if you are guided (led) by the [Holy] Spirit, you are not subject to the Law.
Galatians 5:16‭-‬18 AMPC
http://bible.com/8/gal.5.16-18.AMPC

And those (believers are included) whom choose to walk this life satisfying the "natural" nature....reap destruction
But if you bite and devour one another [in partisan strife], be careful that you [and your whole fellowship] are not consumed by one another. Now the doings (practices) of the flesh are clear (obvious): they are immorality, impurity, indecency, Idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, anger (ill temper), selfishness, divisions (dissensions), party spirit (factions, sects with peculiar opinions, heresies), Envy, drunkenness, carousing, and the like. I warn you beforehand, just as I did previously, that those who do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.
Galatians 5:15‭, ‬19‭-‬21 AMPC
http://bible.com/8/gal.5.15-21.AMPC

Those who belong to Christ.....
And those who belong to Christ Jesus (the Messiah) have crucified the flesh (the godless human nature) with its passions and appetites and desires. If we live by the [Holy] Spirit, let us also walk by the Spirit. [If by the Holy Spirit we have our life in God, let us go forward walking in line, our conduct controlled by the Spirit.]
Galatians 5:24‭-‬25 AMPC

Thanks all for your comments...

That must have been my post that was deleted, and I notice two of my threads elsewhere have been closed.
What's the use of me remaining a member and posting anything else if jittery moderators are going to jump on it?

Cturtle takes her postings at heart and before she became a mod she had several honest and good threads high jacked to the point she could no longer get real replies to what she was lead to write.

So when her thread turned to mickey mouse she could see her thread starting to turn and since she is a mod now she could stop it before it went bad and she lost control of her thread.

So my friend you are a big boy and can make up your own mind and I can not tell you what to do........however there does come a time when we just shake things off and stop running out.

Hope you choose to stick around.
God Bless and may Jesus bless your days in abundance.

Yes that's true, the more I hear it I feel a bit more confident :) but it takes dedication... Sometimes I just listen to worship songs when I feel zapped of positives...and it helps alot.

Just have to follow guidelines ..and I can tell you from years of dark, depressed thinking...even if your in a rut and dont feel like God is all that...its best to think God is good..BC your feelings will catch up eventually :)

There was a time where my life was so much like what you have been going through. I too began to listen to more and more worship songs and Christian music in general.

Wore my head phones at work and had these songs playing in my ear at least 5 to 9 hours a night. I began to crave more of God in my life.

God led me to interviews with these artist and their words literally reached out grabbed my heart and left me crying out I want what they have.

People began appearing in my life every place I went. Even at the grocery store. I remember their eyes. They were so white and pure and full of life.

I made up my mind right then and there come hell or high water I was going to have what they had. So I adopted an attitude in my heart and in prayer that I was coming after God's own heart and would not take No for an answer.

Wow God took me up on my desire just as He will Any one. Now my life began to change and still is today.

Was it easy all the timd. No ! Our enemy does not sit back and allow you to grow without working hard to knock you down and turn you to questioning God.

But it is more then worth it because His word began to be more and more alive to me and in me and Autumn.....that's when life gets Good.
Keep on keeping on Girl, all heaven is rejoicing over you.

And with each step closer to God, and more of His Word saturating you...the weaker that fear becomes, the weaker its hold is on you. You have the power to rebuke and resist the fear. Just gotta dig your heels in and tell it no! You have no authority in me because, the Lord is my Shepherd I shall not want.

Think of it this way....every Word of God's Word that you read is like rain or the shower of water that washes over you to make you clean (Eph 5:26). Now we are not dirty just because of our mistakes, but mostly due to the corruption and evil of the world we live in. The evil, and corruption and doubt and unbelief...is the dirt that God's Word washes off of us every time we read it and allow it to free us from the ways of this world.

Another example is our natural bodies (earth suits) need food to eat that keeps it strong and healthy. Well our spirits (hearts, inner man) needs the nourishment of the Word of God to keep it strong and healthy. Plus praying in the spirit is part of what keeps it strong as well. (Eph. 3:16)
I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will empower you with inner strength through his Spirit.
Ephesians 3:16 NLT
http://bible.com/116/eph.3.16.NLT
When our spirits connect to His through praying in the spirit...it produces a strength that comes from Him, and is 100 times stronger than we can produce on our.own :)

Always have confidence in God no matter what in good or bad situations in your life
Amen and even Paul shows us in Philippians 4:11
Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content.

Paul goes on by speaking about no matter in need or have plenty we need to be content.

This means walking in Love, Joy, Peace and Thanks Giving no matter if your up or down on top of things or things on top of you, we must not change in attitude of the heart.

But this in No Way says to settle for or accept things as your lot on life. No! We need to always rise up and go from victory to vicory god God Always causes us to triumph.

The Joy of the Lord is our Strength and He was not Joking.

I get what you're saying but... Some people have hard lives even with God... Though God is able he never said life would be a cake walk. Our job is to believe and whether God will do it or not is his business, a matter of his sovereignty.
Hard lives yea I know that one.
Yes our Part is to believe but if you are unsure if God will do something or not then what are you believing in?

You asked earlier what I was talking about when I said religion kills and Jesus saves. You asked what I meant about religion and tradition past down through the church....

You quote here is one of those my dear sweet sister.
(whether God will do it or not is his business, a matter of his sovereignty)

That's not Faith nor Trust.
It is not even knowing what God has promised us in His word.

That statement comes from the No Fault Religious Thinking. Yeah no matter what happens it's not my fault for you never know what God will do.

Actually yes we do......it's written in His word.....we Just have to line ourselves up to the place where He can do what He said He will.

Its not being unsure...im just saying...god doesn't heal all the time...he didnt heal Paul. I think accepting the fact God is God is faith...i think it takes more faith to go through and praise God than gey what you want all the time. That takes alot of faith.
