Do men have the gift of healing today? The question is not focused on whether or not God can or does physically heal but are there people who have the ability (Gift) to bring about a physical healing?

Please, do not confuse the question with God healing! I will give all of you my personal opinion based on Bible Scripture and ask you to THINK before posting. I know some of you will say.....MY dad was healed by Benny Hinn or My mother was Healed by Richard Roberts or I have seen God heal.

Did you???? Or did you witness GOD working because of the prayers that were submitted to Him???

Some of you if not most do not remember the time before we had TV's in our homes. We had radios and the next door neighbors.
Then low and behold, During the golden era of televangelism, faith healers abounded. The 1st one I remember was Oral Roberts. I can remember my grandfather putting his hands on the old black and white TV and asking Mr. Roberts to heal him. He never did by the way.

He/They put on elaborate shows of placing their hands on the sick and crippled, rebuking the illness in the name of the Lord, and supposedly healing individuals of their illnesses. Whether it was the televised revivals or the massive crowds lined up for miracle crusades, these events promoted the idea that certain preachers had the gift to heal. And sadly, many faith healers exploited sick people to gain donations to their ministries and increase their own bank accounts. They were swindlers disguised as messengers of good news and wholeness.

We do not see as much now as we did, however the question still lingers – are there Christians who have received the spiritual gift to heal others?
What about missionaries and believers around the world who have seen miraculous acts of healing? Are these events genuine, or are they fabricated by more swindling preachers?

Now, before you post your thoughts, remember that Jesus healed the sick! However, HE WAS GOD!

Luke 7:22.......
"And he answered them, “Go and tell John what you have seen and heard: the blind receive their sight, the lame walk, lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, the poor have good news preached to them."

Now also recall that that same God in the flesh, the Lord Jesus gave the sign gifts to His 12 Apostles and they could and did heal the sick, and raise the dead.
Please find and read Acts 9:8-19----Acts 3:7-----and Acts 9:36-41.

It is my understand that Although God does still heal today, I personally believe His healing through the gift of healing belonged primarily to the apostles of the first-century church to affirm that their message was from God as seen in the Scriptures posted for you to consider.

God still performs miracles. God still heals people. There is nothing preventing God from healing one person through the ministry of another person.

But there is NOTHING in the Scriptures which tell us that God must perform as He is directed or asked to do by a faith healers demand!

However, the miraculous gift of healing, as a spiritual gift, does not seem to be functioning today. God can certainly intervene in whatever manner He sees fit, whether in “normal” fashion or through a miracle. THINK! YOUR salvation itself is a miracle.

YOU and Me are destined for hell. We are sinners and only the grace of God saves us from the fires of Hell. We were dead in sin, but God entered our lives and made us new creatures. That is the greatest healing of all.

Like you I believe the gift of healing was for a limited time. The swindlers you mentioned were exposed for their fraud and people have become more skeptical of those who make such claims. If someone did have the gift, I would think they would empty the children's hospitals. I know I would.

The Christian faith, when accepted without any use of or common sense becomes a weapon of Satan against us.

By that I mean.....we can not use our faith in Christ as an answer to every thing that happens to us.

You see I hope, that Christian faith is not a substitute for human understanding or circumstances. In somethings in life, we must think things through, use wisdom and common sense.

What I am saying is that the Christian can not pray for God's protection and then walk into a lions cage to feed it a steak dinner.

Faith healers are charlatans.

I had an uncle who was physically and mentally impaired by polio contracted during childhood. My grandmother took him to an Oral Roberts crusade to get him healed. When the time came for people to come forward for healing, my grandmother started taking him forward. Suddenly two men stepped in the aisle and blocked the way. They instructed my grandma to take him back to where they started.

Later she found out that the people "healed" were shills planted in the audience by Robert's staff.

Something I noticed a long time ago. Faith healers are individuals who claim to channel divine power for the purpose of healing diseases or physical infirmities. Throughout history, numerous individuals have traveled across regions holding meetings or campaigns purportedly dedicated to miraculous healings. Yes, the 1st one I knew of was that same Oral Roberts.

Yet, the one question I like to ask is ...... Why do many faith healers fail to produce the same results when placed under scientifically controlled conditions?
The answer is so obvious that it is scary!

These so called "faith healers" employ deceptive techniques aimed at those who are easily mentally manipulated.

Investigations by several news outlets over the years have uncovered hidden microphones, prescreening of people’s conditions, emotional manipulations, and misinterpretation of psychosomatic improvements.

These alleged faith healing events rely heavily on heightened emotional states. Mood, adrenaline, and collective belief can give a temporary boost to physical sensations. Yet, when scrutinized afterward-particularly under calm, controlled environments-apparent cures can recede, revealing the lack of enduring physical change. This is exacerbated when the individual returns to normal routines or medical examinations.
