In the office there's an adage that goes, say it like the truth so it becomes the truth. “Oh, I heard we’re getting off early on Friday.” And sometimes it works and the boss lets us go early. How does this apply to our lives in Christ?
First, if the word of God says “X” yet we experience “Y” in our lives. Making us think “X” is unobtainable or “just something spiritual” or “that’s for someone better than me”. Our beliefs do not line up with God. So we must change our thinking (brain) about “Y” to thinking about “X” so that “X” become the truth in our hearts (belief) lining up with God’s word. Everything about God is about faith from the heart (belief). If we think it’s true, but in our hearts we do not, then WE make it false. Here’s proof:
James 1:8 KJV A double minded man [is] unstable in all his ways.
See? When our thinking doesn’t mesh with our beliefs we’re double minded (brain vs. heart) causing us to be unstable in everything. So the promises of God are nullified in our lives by what’s in our hearts, Gal 2:21. So how do we fix this? How do we move the word of God from our brains to our hearts?
Well how do we get saved?
Rom 10:8-10 KJV But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, [even] in thy
mouth, and in thy
heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; That if thou shalt
confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt
believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead,
thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
Speak. Speak, with your voice the truth.
Notice v.10. With the heart man believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. So this next verse is true too of the opposite:
Mat 12:34 KJV - 34 O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh.
Mat 15:8 KJV - 8 This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with [their] lips; but their heart is far from me.
Ok, so what’s this got to do with the office example? At Creation, there wasn’t anything and God spoke and it was. He changed Abram’s name to Abraham (Father of many) even though he had no offspring.
Rom 4:17 KJV - 17 (As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations,) before him whom he believed, [even] God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were.
Think about it: what is prayer, speaking out for something that is not, so it can be. Therefore, what you must do (and I’m learning this for myself) is to speak the truth of the word of God: I am healed, Isa 53:5, 1Pet 2:24. I lack nothing, Psa 23:1. I am able, Phil 4:13. I am accepted, Eph 1:6. I am appointed by God, John 15:16. And on and on and on…
The real law of God is written on your hearts, Rom 2:15, and you are a walking scripture, 2Cor 3:2.
So Speak the Truth!
Pro 16:23 KJV - 23 The heart of the wise teacheth his mouth, and addeth learning to his lips.
Psa 19:14 KJV - 14 Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer.
Psa 49:3 KJV - 3 My mouth shall speak of wisdom; and the meditation of my heart [shall be] of understanding.
Over time, the heart learns you're serious and takes you mouth and brain's advice and changes, NOW you have faith!
