One afternoon while hiking, Thomas stumbled and fell over the side of a steep cliff. Before he hit bottom, however he managed to grab hold of a tree branch. Dangling precariously over the canyon, he shouted, "Lord, can You hear me?"
"Yes, my son," replied the Lord, "I can hear you."
"Can you help me?" the man cried.
"Of course!" said the Lord. "Just let go of the branch and I'll catch you."
Thomas thought for a moment, lifted his eyes to heaven, and pleaded: "Lord, can anyone else hear me?"
