Draw Near

“O God, you are my God; I earnestly search for you.
My soul thirsts for you;
my whole body longs for you in this parched and weary land
where there is no water.”

Last month, near my 75th birthday, I…asked,
“Lord, what would you have me to do for the rest of my days.
What should be my focus?” My answer came:
“Draw near to me, and I will draw near to you.”
That was all.

I woke up thinking about this verse:

"So then, my beloved, just as you have always
obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now
much more in my absence, work out your own
salvation with fear and trembling;"
(Philippians 2:12; NASB)

We are to develop a personal relationship
with a personable God and not get to a point
where we think to highly of ourselves in that
relationship; is what I have on my heart to say.

I really admire you and your discipline shown in studying and expounding on God's Word.
May we all use you as an example of how to draw ever more closely to our Savior.
