Fountain Pens

bobinfaith I am so happy to hear this! May you enjoy the tactile pleasure of pen and paper once more. Please let us know how it goes.

Hello LearningToLetGo;

I hadn't used my fountain pen for almost 20 years and learned how to take the front end of the pen "nib" into a glass of cold water for 24 hours. Already I can see the old ink loosen. Tomorrow I'll rinse the front end and gently blow into it any excess water and then gently dry it. The ink cartridges that I received fit.

The Waterman ink you purchased should be quite gentle and water soluble. After soaking, take a soft toothbrush and very gently brush the feed to remove any remaining clogs. You can try adding a very small, e.g. one drop, of dish washing fluid to help clean out any stubborn residue if needed. Let it dry and put it back together. It should work like a charm!

Finally, some good news! Enjoy you pen, Bob.

Hello, Jason;

While in San Diego last week a friend made me this pen with a design on it. The way he explained, "The wood is desert iron wood from sacred grounds inside an Indian reservation in Arizona. The Celtic knot spiritually signifies the Trinity and the circle of life, death and the rebirth."

We're both Christians and don't really pay too much heed to the "sacred grounds" of the explanation but the overall design and the pen that he made for me.

That's very nice, Bob. Some people enjoy wood turning and pens like that are fun to make. Does it take Cross refills? I have a couple similar pens that do, and they are a pleasure to write with.

In Jr. High I remember a 'faux' fountain pen. Instead of ink and a bottle, you inserted an ink cartridge(less messy and more portable). Circa 1961.
Does anyone remember those?

Those are called cartridges and are filled with ink. You pop one into the receiver and ink flows from there. They're quite popular. There's also something called a "cartridge converter" which performs a similar function except it uses a piston action to draw ink up from a bottle.

Just bought myself the pink... light blue... green... and violet... although I think I am going to return the pink the next time I go in as I'm not a PINK person... I just got so excited and bought them all. There was NO brown.

crossnote.... I just told my pen (whose name is Copper )... that you called him FAKE/FAUX. HAHAHAHA.
He said... he'll see you in COURT. HAHA.

I remember a very very long time ago... that for some reason... I tried a dipped fountain pen.

I am absolutely SOLD on these cartridges... they are way less messy and only have to worry about ink when the cartridge runs out.... which for me is every few days as I am constantly writing. HA.

Or e-sign on a PDF form
What on earth does this mean???

Good morning, In Awe of Him;
