Free Masonry and Christianity Can Not Co-Exist

This is one of those topics that NO One wants to talk about. Christian leaders because they do not want to anger the Masons in their church for fear of losing income. Masons because they are a secret society pledged to "conceal the truth and never to reveal".

The Facts however are that Freemasonry is rampant in the Church, both in the Evangelical Church as well as all other denominations.

Another Fact is that Freemasons do a lot of charitable work and there has been a lot of humanitarian good that has come from this group, such as hospitals.

But the bottom line question is, is Freemasonry a religion, and is it compatible with Christianity? The short answer is no. The long answer is no, absolutely not. And here are five reasons why.

1.) Freemasons swear secret oaths.
Most Christians do not understand the practices and rituals of the Masonic Lodge. Before a candidate can become a Freemason, one must swear an oath upon initiation declaring that he is,
"Binding myself under no less penalty than to have my throat cut across, my tongue torn out by the roots, and my body buried in the rough sands of the sea at low water-mark, where the tide ebbs and flows twice in twenty-four hours; so help me God, and keep me steadfast in the due performance of the same."

The Scriptures strictly forbid this kind of oath-taking. We see in Mattew 5:32-37 Jesus saying.........
"But I say to you, Do not take an oath at all, either by heaven, for it is the throne of God, or by the earth, for it is his footstool, or by Jerusalem, for it is the city of the great King. And do not take an oath by your head, for you cannot make one hair white or black. Let what you say be simply ‘Yes’ or ‘No’; anything more than this comes from evil. "
2.) Freemasons practice idolatry.

Freemasonry claims that it is not anti-Christian. Further, it also claims that it is not anti-“any religion,” therefore, you can be of Christian, Islamic, Jewish, Hindu, Buddhist, Mormon, and Deist faith. Masonry, not only encourages Christians to worship God — they also encourage Muslims to worship Allah, Buddhists to worship Buddha, etc.

The Bible clearly teaches that this is idolatry and that God hates it, as it is the first two commandments.
3.) Freemasonry teaches Universalism.
Undoubtedly, one of the worst affronts to the teaching of God is a denial of the exclusivity of Christ as Lord and Savior. Freemasonry teaches that all religious paths lead to the same God. Consider their official name for this universal god they worship, they call him The Great Architect of the Universe. They fail to acknowledge him as the thrice-holy God, the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. They assign him a generic name that is fitting for any of their members.

4.) Freemasonry claims esoteric secrets. The Bible exhorts Christians to be transparent, but the Masonic lodge teaches contrary to this biblical truth. Jesus taught that all of His teachings were made known to everyone — nothing was kept secret.

John 18:20......
"Jesus answered him, “I have spoken openly to the world. I have always taught in synagogues and in the temple, where all Jews come together. I have said nothing in secret".

Freemasonry claims that they have a secret knowledge that’s made available to them that isn’t available to all people.

5.) Freemasonry teaches works righteousnes.
Albert Pike, one of the grandfathers of modern freemasonry stated,.......
"The universal, eternal, immutable religion, such as God planted it in the heart of universal humanity. No creed has ever been long lived that was not built upon this foundation…The ministers of this religion are all Masons… Its sacrifices to God are good works… and perpetual efforts to attain to all the moral perfection of which man is capable."

Are these cats making some sort of comeback? I remember Walter Martin exposing them a long time ago.

Hello Major;

Free Masonry left a bitter taste and is non-existent with our family, a name / organization from the past that we haven't heard from since 1998. That year my wife confronted a family from a sect called Iglesia de Cristo (this location was connected with Free Masonry) and she called them out for attempting to recruit one of her brothers overseas. The family's daughter would go overseas, marry my wife's brother, return and have him become a member.

Free Masonry offered monetary offerings for their church along with their meeting place for gatherings and festivities.

With deep pockets, Free Masonry choose the other master. Matthew 6:24, 24 “No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money.
- NKJV

From what I heard the family froze at my wife's apologetics and for attempting to recruit her brother, seemingly innocent of the marriage and their church belief. She also confronted the church's minister. I wanted to accompany my wife but she asked me not to go. Instead, she went with her sister and confronted this family of 10.

Iglesia de Cristo is a church that rejects the doctrine of the Trinity. They teach that Jesus Christ was a good man, give credit as being God's chosen son but not God Himself. They had ties to Free Masonry.

This was not a good memory to remember but felt I needed to share this.

God bless
you, Major.

Bob

Sometimes, as is with the Masons, discression is the better part of Valor.

Or......if other do not know you are involved in a cult, to them, you are not involved in a cult.

Well, they've been doing a good job at concealing themselves.
Another oath that is sworn before they reach the 33rd degree level is......
"I swear to never have sexual relations with a fellow lodge brothers wife".

Now....think about that. WHY would anyone Christain have to swear an oath like that when the Bible declares clealy.....
"Thou shalt not commit adultery"!

Congratulations to your wife!

In 1989, I gave a sermon on ......"Who do YOU worship".

I made the point that many "church members" want the preacher to finish his sermon at 12 noon so that they can have lunch and get home for the NFL game on TV.

Somewhere in the middle, I made the comment, if you are here today with a Masonic Ring on, I encourage you to drop it in the offering plate and focus on the one and only true God of the Bible and NOT the Great Architect of the Universe.

I had FOUR men, stand up and leave the meeting. However, the actual Christians in the Church met the next Wednesday business meeting and gave me a raise!
