G. K. Chesterton

I would like to buy one or two books by G. K. Chesterton. I thought about maybe reading Orthodoxy but would like to know if anyone has any other recommendations. Thanks!

I've read Orthodoxy which was really good. I have one of his Father Brown books but haven't finished it yet (it's very good). My friend has read quite a few of his books. He recommended The Everlasting Man and The Man who was Thursday.

He was a great writer and was one of the influence of C.S. Lewis. Even as an atheist, Lewis found Chesterton to be extremely sober in what he wrote and it eventually lead to his conversion.

Thanks! I was also thinking of reading The Everlasting Man. I have read several quotes from Chesterton's writings and I have always found them to be interesting and thought-provoking.

Highly highly second The Man Who Was Thursday. The theatre troupe I am a part of will be performing this next year. It is a wonderfully humorous and thought-provoking piece of work. For some fantastic thoughts on marriage, The Superstition of Divorce.

Also a fun one to wrap the mind around: The Ball and The Cross.
