Gal 3:21-26

Galatians 3:21-26

King James Version (KJV)

21 Is the law then against the promises of God? God forbid: for if there had been a law given which could have given life, verily righteousness should have been by the law.
22 But the scripture hath concluded all under sin, that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to them that believe.
23 But before faith came, we were kept under the law, shut up unto the faith which should afterwards be revealed.
24 Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith.
25 But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster.
26 For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.

Galatians 3:21-26

Holman Christian Standard Bible (HCSB)

21 Is the law therefore contrary to God’s promises? Absolutely not! For if a law had been given that was able to give life, then righteousness would certainly be by the law. 22 But the Scripture has imprisoned everything under sin’s power,so that the promise by faith in Jesus Christ might be given to those who believe. 23 Before this faith came, we were confined under the law, imprisoned until the coming faith was revealed. 24 The law, then, was our guardian until Christ, so that we could be justified by faith. 25 But since that faith has come, we are no longer under a guardian, 26 for you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus.

These are my thoughts please share yours.

21 If Jesus had not come then we would of had to live by the law but since He came He fulfilled the law for us. Believers righteous is not in the law but in their faith by Christ.

22 We were prisoners to sin before Jesus set us free by His grace. Christ was promised by the law and now He sets us free from the bonds of the law.

23 Thru the law we lived to do what was lawful. Thru Christ we are able to have mercy and grace and not focus on our failing in the law.

24 Before Christ people were justified by the law but now we are justified by our faith in Jesus.

25 We are no longer bond to the law and are set free. We are able to live not by the law but live by Him.

26 We are to live as Christ did and as we grow in faith we will grow to be more like Christ.
