Gal 4:1-7

Galatians 4:1-7

Holman Christian Standard Bible (HCSB)

4 1 Now I say that as long as the heir is a child, he differs in no way from a slave, though he is the owner of everything. 2 Instead, he is under guardians and stewards until the time set by his father. 3 In the same way we also, when we were children, were in slavery under the elemental forces of the world. 4 When the time came to completion, God sent His Son, born of a woman, born under the law, 5 to redeem those under the law, so that we might receive adoption as sons. 6 And because you are sons, God has sent the Spirit of His Son into our hearts, crying, “Abba, Father!” 7 So you are no longer a slave but a son, and if a son, then an heir through God.

Galatians 4:1-7

King James Version (KJV)

4 Now I say, That the heir, as long as he is a child, differeth nothing from a servant, though he be lord of all;
2 But is under tutors and governors until the time appointed of the father.
3 Even so we, when we were children, were in bondage under the elements of the world:
4 But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law,
5 To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons.
6 And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father.
7 Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.

These are my thoughts please share yours.

1-2 A child could not be a sole an heir until they became of age the would have help with things. The heir owns all that he inherits but he does not have control of everything until he becomes old enough to have wisdom to make good decisions.

3 We were slaves to our flesh and to the world. As we grow up in Christ we will not long so much for the world but, for God.

4 God's plan came by the way of Christ, who fulfilled the law while before we were bound to it. Without Christ we would be judged by the law but we can not live by the letter of the law.

5 We are adopted by the Father thru the Son by recieving the forgiveness we gain relationship with God who then is a Father who we listen to in respect and not in fear.

6 We are given the Spirit which makes grow in the way of the Father and we start to look less like us and more like Christ.

7 We are nolonger bound to sin but in fellowship with God by His Spirit and we become sons and daugthers of Christ and become co heirs along with Christ but of the bond we have with God thru Christ.
