Ghosts

Since speaking to the dead is forbidden in the Scriptures, the witch faked Samuel's appearance. Saul was tricked into believing that it was really Samuel when it was only some type of deception on the part of the witch. That is exactly what physics and mediums do today.
Funny, that's not what the word of God says. It was Samuel and he prophesied to Saul and it happened. Read the account for yourself, not hear the pulpit stories.

Hi @Euphemia,
Re: #40.

'The breath of life', or 'spirit', of all men goes back to God the Father of spirits, at the death of the body. Even our Lord Jesus Christ commended His spirit to God, before He died. Yet when He was resurrected, His spirit, or the breath of life, was united with His resurrection body, and He lived again. He ate a meal with His disciples, and taught them after His resurrection, so His resurrection body had all the functions of bodily life. He was not a spirit.

We are in Christ, in spirit, now and always, and our life, resurrection life, is also, 'in Him'. When He appears in glory, then the Church which is His body will appear with Him there, clothed with resurrection bodies, and energized by resurrection life.

Praise God!

In Christ Jesus
Chris

Actually we live very close (5 miles) from the Spiritualist community of Cassadaga Fl. It nothing but mediums and physics. Unfortunately their best day of business is after church on Sunday Afternoon. What does that say??????
Thats insane.

Hello again,

The first lie, Satan told, as the Father of Lies, was made to Eve, with the words, ' Ye shall not surely die': and it is the root of all the blind alleys which men spend, sometimes their whole lives, investigating; in the form of psychical research, the paranormal, and spirtualism. Mediums, clairvoyants and fortune tellers have earned their living by these means down through the centuries. Yet it is all based on a lie, that man shall not surely die, but pass from one state of existance to another.

Yet man does not have an immortal soul. The wages of sin is death. Life, eternal life is a gift, given to those who believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and that life begins at resurrection, which is yet to come.

In Christ Jesus

Good stuff. That means there is now in heaven something that had never been before......a glorified MAN-GOD.

You forgot something. What part of Jesus went into hell to get the keys of hell and death? What part of Jesus went to paradise, which is not heaven? What part of Jesus preached to the souls in prison. Jesus does not have a flesh and bone body right now, he has a supernatural spiritual body. Jesus's physical body was resurrected on the third day, and he roamed the earth for 40 days with that body until he ascended to his father which at that time his body was changed from a physical one to a supernatural body, exactly how ours will be at his return. Man is not body, and spirit, he is spirit, soul, and body. You left out man's "soul" which is not his spirit or his body.

Just because something dies does not mean it does not exist anymore. Death is separation from God. Adam and Eve did die the very day they ate from the tree God told them not to, and it's symptoms become very evident that same day when they became fearful, and tried to hide from the Lord. Fear is a sign of death, and all those who are "fearful" will be cast into the lake of fire.

Life does not begin at the resurrection, it begins when a person confesses Jesus Christ as their Lord and savior.

Hello @CCW95A,

We have discussed, 'The Soul', on the forum at length quite recently. I have not forgotton it. The soul is the body, energized by the breath of life, or 'spirit', - the whole person in other words (Gen. 2:7). The soul can die, it is not immortal (Ezekiel 18:4).

1 Peter 3:18-19, tells us, that after being quickened into life by the Spirit, by the Spirit also went to Tartartus to preach to' the spirits in prison' . Those 'spirits' being the angels that sinned and left their first estate, bringing, judgement and the flood upon mankind (see Jude 1:6).

Praise God! He was not left in the grave, His body did not see corruption. His resurrection body is a spiritual body which is also flesh and bone (Luke 24:39).

Thank you, CCW95A,
In Christ Jesus

On the contrary, @CCW95A,

God means exactly what He says, and says exactly what He means.
Death means death.

Re: your comment on 'the fearful', the word as used in Revelation 21:8, means, 'faithless', not being full of fear.

The Bible interprets itself, it is not for us to do so.

Hi @CCW95A,

I thought you may appreciate seeing, G1169, the Strongs definition of 'fearful' (Revelation 21:8)

'deilos'
From: ' deos' (dread); timid, that is, (by implication) - faithless
Translated:
- fearful
Usage: Matthew 8:26
Mark 4:40
Revelation 21:8
' And He said unto them,
"Why are ye so fearful?
how is it that ye have no faith?"
And they feared exceedingly,
and said one to another,
"What manner of man is this,
that even the wind and the sea obey Him?

(Mar 4:40,41)

Praise God!

you won't find me doing a sleep over in a deserted run down house where someone took their own life.
or
about 10 minutes drive from us is an abandoned mental hospital, big building, all rusting, rotting, fenced off,
creepy with a dark history, no way would I sleep there overnight.

On the contrary, @CCW95A,

God means exactly what He says, and says exactly what He means.
Death means death.

Rev 21:8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

G1169 Greek word "fearful"

deilós; fem. deile??, neut. deilón, adj. from deído? (n.f.), to fear. Timid, fearful (Mat_8:26; Mar_4:40; Rev_21:8; Sept.: Deu_20:8; Jdg_7:3).
Deriv.: deilía (G1167), timidity; deiliáo? (G1168), to be afraid.

If the "soul" was simply a person with a body, and spirit, as soon as that person dies physically then the body goes into the ground and the spirit that God gave it goes back to God. This would mean that person now no longer exists, and that is a total lie, and untrue on every level.

Praise God! He was not left in the grave, His body did not see corruption. His resurrection body is a spiritual body which is also flesh and bone (Luke 24:39).

Jesus does not have a flesh, and bone body today. It was only flesh and bone for forty days so as to poof he was alive from the dead. Jesus did not raise to his Father until at which time that would have caused his physical body to be changed into a spiritual body.

Act 1:8.. But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
Act 1:9.. And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight.
Act 1:10.. And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel;
Act 1:11.. Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.

This was the only time Jesus ascended to his Father. Before this, Jesus had a physical body on earth made up of flesh, and bone, but he no longer has a flesh and bone body.

The proof that Jesus was now ascended and had sit down next to his Father with his glorified body was the out pouring of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit could no be given until Jesus was glorified!!!

Joh 7:38.. He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.
Joh 7:39.. (But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.)

The day of Pentecost was the proof that Jesus had ascended to his Father, and was now glorified, which Peter tells us in the Book of Acts.

Act 2:32.. This Jesus hath God raised up, whereof we all are witnesses.
Act 2:33.. Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, he hath shed forth this, which ye now see and hear.

Hello @CCW95A,

We must let God's Word be the arbitur on these matters, I believe. May His perfect will be done in each one of us, for His name and glory's sake.

Praise His Holy Name!

In Christ Jesus

Saviour, Lord and Head
