God's Many Blessings (Blessing # 10 - Pastors)

1 Timothy 2:1-2 (NLT)

1 Here are my directions: Pray much for others; plead for God’s mercy upon them; give thanks for all he is going to do for them.
2 Pray in this way for kings and all others who are in authority over us, or are in places of high responsibility, so that we can live in peace and quietness, spending our time in godly living and thinking much about the Lord.

Pastors have many responsibilities, and few of those are realized by the congregations.
Churches can be very different. Pastors may have all of these responsibilities on their shoulders, and probably never get any thanks for most or any of those duties.

For example:
Preparing and delivering Sunday service.
Listening, Counseling and Advising.
Spiritual guidance.
Correction to flock when needed.
Missionary Work.
Some Pastors are responsible for the church building maintenance.
Organizing Prayer meetings.
Weddings, Funerals and Baptisms.
Teaching people how to pray.
Taking new Christians in for bible studies.
Organizing Sunday School and Youth work.

Please remember to pray for blessings for our Pastors, they carry a heavy load.
Thank you LORD for our Pastors.

God's Many Blessings (Blessing # 11 - Church)

When we think of 'church,' the most common thing that may come to mind is a building or meeting room where we can go to worship God. There are many things that a church represents: A place to hear a sermon; a place pray by ourselves or with others; a place to learn God's Word and the Gospel of Jesus Christ; a place to get married; a place to get Baptized; a place to participate in charitable programs for others; a place to find counseling or a place to simply find peace and tranquility.

A church can be made up of a Pastor or Pastors, Deacons, Teachers, sometimes musicians and a congregation of Believers making up the body of the church. However, a church can also be thought of as a gathering of several Believers just about anywhere, as mentioned in Matthew 18:20 (World English Bible - WEB), "For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there I am in the middle of them.”

We can read Paul's words in Romans 15:5-6 (WEB) where he mentions gathering together to worship: "5 Now the God of perseverance and of encouragement grant you to be of the same mind with one another according to Christ Jesus, 6 that with one accord you may with one mouth glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ."

Participating in church functions or gatherings can give us contentment and a feeling of closeness to Our Heavenly Father. May God lead all of us to our choice of a church or a simple gathering for worship, so we may become a good example to others and allow them to know God better, as well.

For those who choose to gather in His name, this Forum at CFS is a church gathering place.

May God Bless.

Many people are finding it hard to find the right church for themselves.

For me CFS is a brilliant, truthful church to gather with.

Very good devotional, thank you
Pastor Gary

Gods Many Blessings - (Blessing # 12 - The Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit)

John 12:49 (WEB)

"For I spoke not from myself, but the Father who sent me, He gave me a commandment, what I should say and what I should speak."

When Jesus, the Son of God, was on the earth, he spoke the words that the father gave to Him. Indeed, as we see from John 10:30(WEB), "I and the Father are one."

So we have the Father and the Son, but that is not all.

John 15:26 (WEB)
"When the Counselor has come, whom I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit of Truth, who proceeds from the Father, he will testify about me."

So many people do not know about the love that the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit has for us, so they live in fear or loneliness. We are not on our own and we must pray for others and let them know of the terrific help that is there, from the father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, working hard to help God's people.

John 14:17 (WEB)
"...the Spirit of truth, whom the world can’t receive; for it doesn’t see him and doesn’t know him. You know him, for he lives with you, and will be in you."

2 Corinthians 13:14 (WEB)
"The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, God’s love, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all. Amen."
