In keeping with our continuing presentation series, we would like to honor those persons and groups who are dedicated to helping others.
Our first group to mention and to pray for are Healthcare Workers, Doctors, Nurses, CNA's, etc. Their dedication to helping others and the long hours that they put in to accomplish that makes them very special.

28 “Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart; and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”
James 5:14 (ESV)
Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the Elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord.
Does this still happen? I hope so.
We send for an ambulance and the Paramedics are soon with you.
Never knowing what kind of person to expect.
There have been times when these hardworking people have been attacked. But still they work on, assessing the needs of the patient and taking them to the hospital.
Psalm 68:17 (WEB)
The chariots of God are tens of thousands and thousands of thousands. The Lord is among them, from Sinai, into the sanctuary.

I know that first hand because my mother worked on Air Balloons and had parachutes at that time.
The food we eat, the store items that we need in our homes and the fuel we use in our vehicles are all transported by truck drivers. They keep the stores and markets stocked with our necessities while sometimes driving in all kinds of bad weather, putting their safety at risk, while helping all of us.
Hebrews13:16 (WEB)
But don’t forget to be doing good and sharing, for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.
Exodus 22:6 (WEB)
If fire breaks out and catches in thorns, so that the stacked grain, or the standing grain, or the field is consumed, he who started the fire shall make full restitution.
Fires can be started deliberately or accidentally, or even started by the lightning in a storm.
Lately we have witnessed massive fires around the world, that proved to be impossible to quench. But the brave Fire Fighters kept on fighting, both from land and sky. They risked their lives, not stopping until the fire was over. Thank you and blessings to these brave heroes..
God's Servants - Cleaners e.g. hospital and nursing home
Psalm 51:7 (WEB)
Purify me with hyssop, and I will be clean. Wash me, and I will be whiter than snow.
One of the most important tasks in Hospitals and Nursing Facilities is to keep things clean, so illnesses are not transmitted person to person. The staff members who keep these locations clean are a vital element in providing a safe and clean environment for patients, other staff and visitors alike.
Luke 10:32-34 (WEB) 32. In the same way a Levite also when he came to the place and saw him, passed by on the other side.
33. But a certain Samaritan, as he traveled, came near as he was, when he saw him, he was filled with compassion,
34. He came to him, bound up his wounds, pouring on oil and wine. He set him on his own animal, brought him to an inn and took care of him.
Rebekah's Story on Suicide
Anyone can phone or visit the Samaritans, about anything at all, and know it is in complete confidence.
Isaiah 40:31 (KJV)
But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
Helicopter rescue crews and air ambulance aircraft crews make a substantial difference when persons are very ill or badly injured and time is critical. Civilian and military rescue services save thousands of lives worldwide each year, getting patients to emergency hospitals rapidly.
2 King's 4:13 (WEB) He said to him, "Say to her, 'Behold, you have cared for us with all this care. Would you like to be spoken for to the King?, or the captain of the army?"
A Care Giver's duties can vary widely, depending on a person's needs.
Some people may need help with hygiene, others cooking, shopping, or even eating, laundry, and so the list goes on. A Care Giver needs patience and understanding.
God's Servants - Nursing Home Visitation with Therapy Animals
1 Corinthians 13:4-7 (ESV)
4 Love is patient and is kind. Love doesn’t envy. Love doesn’t brag, is not proud, 5 doesn’t behave itself inappropriately, doesn’t seek its own way, is not provoked, takes no account of evil; 6 doesn’t rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth; 7 bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, and endures all things.
When we encounter a friendly therapy animal, especially in a nursing home, there is joy in our hearts as we observe the interaction between the senior citizen and the animal. Therapy dogs and cats make a difference in the lives of persons in nursing homes and the visitation brightens their day.
Genesis 1:24 (WEB)
God said, “Let the earth produce living creatures after their kind, livestock, creeping things, and animals of the earth after their kind;” and it was so.
Luke 14:5 (ESV)
And he said to them, "Which of you, having a donkey or an ox that has fallen into a well on a Sabbath day, will not immediately pull him out?"
Proverbs 12:10 (WEB)
"A righteous man respects the life of his animal, but the tender mercies of the wicked are cruel."
Trained rescuers will go out to save stray animals which have been reported to them. All animals brought into the shelter will be examined by the vets and nurses. Any treatment or medicines will be provided.
Volunteer helpers will work hard to keep the animals and the Shelter clean. And all will work at calming the frightened animals and prepare them for adoption.
The bigger shelters will rescue horses, cows, and many different animals.
They all do a wonderful job with our animal friends, and teach the to trust again.
17 Year old cow, Margaret, finds friendship at a rescue facility.
God's Servants - Safe House Staff, Caring for the Abused
Proverbs 22:10 (WEB)
"Drive out a scoffer, and strife will go out, and quarreling and abuse will cease."
Some domestic relationships go bad and when that happens, sometimes mental or physical abuse can take place. The abused do have a recourse; by going to a Safe House staffed by caring persons and counselors. The staff can offer a safe, temporary room, food, some clothing and basic necessities, until such time as the cause of the abuse is dealt with legally. Many lives have been saved by Safe Houses and their caring staff members.

To whom he said, "This is the resting place, give rest to the weary", and "This is the refreshing." Yet they would not hear.
Matthew 5:5 (WEB)
Blessed are the gentle for they shall inherit the earth.
Matthew 9:35 (WEB)
Jesus went about all the cities and the villages, teaching in their synagogues and preaching the Good News of the Kingdom, and healing every disease and every sickness among the people.
Dementia is a cruel illness, but there are Day Centres whose staff are fully trained on how to help the Sufferers.
The Centres are opened at least once a day, some more than than that. The Carers are gentle people, and understand what the patients are going through, so they need to be patient.
The days there are spent doing crafts, painting, playing games and chatting. Every now and then they all go on a coach journey, to somewhere nice. God Bless these wonderful dedicated Carers .
Matthew 7:7-8 (ESV) 7 “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. 8 For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened.
Matthew 21:22 (ESV)
"And whatever you ask in prayer, you will receive, if you have faith.”
When we have a need to pray for someone, we can pray as an individual or gather together in prayer and dedicate our prayers to God through Jesus Christ. Our prayers will be heard and God will do what is right under each set of circumstances.
Be a Prayer Warrior and put on the Armor of God to stand firm against Satan's attacks.
Ephesians 6:11 (ESV)
Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil.
God's Servants - Visitors to the sick at home or hospital
Job 2:13 (WEB)
So they sat down with him on the ground seven days and seven nights, and no one spoke a word to him, for they saw that his grief was very great.
Hebrews 13:1-2 (WEB)
Let brotherly love continue. 2 Don’t forget to show hospitality to strangers, for in doing so, some have entertained angels without knowing it.
When family or friends are ill, we go to visit them. If they are very ill, it may be hard to know what to say. A hug can open the way, or just hold their hand, play some soft music, read to them or let them know some good news. Give them time to say what is on their mind. Remind them God loves them. Read from the Bible and pray with them.
