Camels

VBA_110_04_0154_BiblePaintings_VBA.jpg

Matthew 19:23-24 (WEB)
23 Jesus said to his disciples, “Most certainly I say to you, a rich man will enter into the Kingdom of Heaven with difficulty. 24 Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through a needle’s eye than for a rich man to enter into God’s Kingdom.”

[ In ancient times a main Oasis gate was always locked after sunset. The only gate that was left open was the "Needle Gate" - a small gate, where a camel's load would have to be left outside in order for the camel to pass through to be watered. So it is with a rich man who wishes to get to heaven - he must 'unload' all his possessions and leave them behind. ]
