Great Hymn Today

The preacher this evening referred to this hymn:

'See from His head, His hands, His feet,
Sorrow and love flow mingled down,
Did e'er such love and sorrow meet,
Or thorns compose so rich a crown?'

The enemies of God intended for that cruel crown to add an insult to their efforts to oppose their efforts. But in fact it became a glorious crown as the One Who suffered in wondrous love for those who were His enemies gained the victory at the Cross.

'Were the whole realm of nature mine,
That were an offering far too small.
Love so amazing, so divine
Demands my life, my soul, my all.'

I also like "A Mighty Fortress is Our God"....

Rusty: This is an old favorite of mine, too; based of course on Psalm 46. (Maybe you've been in Luther country on your trips to Germany? I've been to Berlin, though many of my travels in Germany were more in the western parts.)

Blessings.
