HALLOWEEN!

no sir the more i say the more rebukes are posted. which are not real rebukes just opinions which are like noses everyone has one.. ................................................................>moving on
Obviously, your understanding of a discussion with differences and the word rebuke are very different.

I wish you well and I respect your choices.

i have plenty of understanding of the differences

Good morning, Jerry;

I know you do. It takes years of hard knocks experience of "not understanding" to gain understanding of the differences.

We all come in different flavors if you know what I mean. This Halloween our niece's parents are her parents and will decide. As Aunt and Uncle we have to understand yet respect and not undermine their raising of their 8 year old
daughter.

I forgot to mention, Santa Claus during Christmas and the Easter bunny during Resurrection.

God bless you, brother.

Bob

Forgive me if you already answered it, but I'm wondering how trick or treat got changed to trunk or treat?

its not trick or treat .its the name of a event not been used around here any more,, its a fun time for kids as a substitute for trick or treating . btw it had nothing to do with a cr trunk most call it a fall festival and it has nothing to do with evil

The comment was made that the kids will be fine and that they will outgrow Santa ... the Easter Bunny and Halloween.

I agree that the kids will outgrow Santa and the Easter Bunny and they will be left with the memories of feeling AWE and WONDER.... especially the kind that happens around Christmas. I don't think ANYONE here is a KILL-JOY.

The issue with Halloween is that the kids do NOT outgrow it... and it is birthed in the OCCULT.... NO matter how you cut it... how you justify it...
Halloween goes AGAINST absolutely everything we teach our kids 364 days of the year. It embraces so many evil things.

We have approximately 3 months to celebrate and give thanks for the FALL HARVEST. I absolutely believe this should be done SEPARATELY from Halloween.... rather than simply justifying the "loss of candy and treats" that the other kids receive... and re-naming the evening Trunk or Treat.

Anyways..... Glad this is almost done and over with. HA

Perhaps this topic on Halloween was meant to give us food for thought toward man made annual celebrations. This thread has succeeded in stimulating various opinions and disagreements.

I would reason in some parts of our communities Halloween night as kids has evolved into grownup adults delving into evil, escaping for one night into other areas of vivid darkness and imagination, to extremes of satanic worship.

The remedy for those communities that are influenced by the origins of Halloween as children is continued incessant prayer.

Putting aside my humble brag, I was the kind of kid who was a joiner, always surrounded by other kids outside, playing marbles, Little League baseball, building cardboard castles in the forest of Germany, riding wooden go karts with my mates in England. I joined in on Halloween each October in the United Kingdom, Europe, and various parts of the United States. By the time I was 13 and living in South Carolina, Halloween became a turnoff because as a young teen it wasn't cool anymore to trick or treat with kiddies.

In other words I had fun, but outgrew Halloween and joined in on the youth groups and playing guitar with the praise and worship team by the time I was 17. The seed was planted and growing in my faith.

When we reached adulthood I may remember less than 5 Halloween parties I attended in funny costumes, refreshments and dancing usually with employees and social friends. I remain in contact today with many of my childhood friends but none that lost their way to evil practices stemmed from Halloween. I cannot recall one person who was led into an occult, (secret gatherings) due to the annual celebration, leading to other forms of demonic worship.

For those of you who may be aware of this
mislead in your community, then as believers in the Christ, continue to pray for the lost and blind in your own backyard.

As far as this being almost done and over, I thought the conversation would end a couple of weeks ago with some good posts shared. But it's possible this may go on up to Halloween.

If those of you who are done with this thread, then move on and prayerfully post in the many other forums we have here.

God bless
everyone.

Bob

Still wondering how trick or treat got changed to trunk or treat?
some churches wanted to compete with trick or treat, so they came up with Trunk or Treat.
Church members would park their cras in the parking lot and give out candy to those walking by trick or treating.

The word here is Compromising with the evil of halloween! Give me some candy or I will mess up your house/car.

On any other day of the year that would be called coercion.

I think one good thing about my personality is that I am NOT moved by other's opinions on topics. I had to work very hard to get to my own opinions.
I have NO problem with those who do not agree with me.

I just have an issue with the things that occur on this holiday. I am fine going to my friend's house and going out for supper then watching a movie.
So.... YEAH... We are done the Halloween discussion a month early. HA

That's fine, In Awe of Him;

You shared your heart felt opinions with us many posts ago. No worries, sister.

Now, go enjoy dinner at your friend's house and the movie.
🍽️ 😇🍿

God bless you.

I understood or thought this was a debate on the origins of Halloween... .and so... I chose to question the comment that it is a friendly and fun and innocent time. Usually I only speak once but debates are a bit different. Sorry If I have spoken too much.

I do not see the 'fun' of Satan's deceit. Who would want children to celebrate the skeletons, vampires, ghosts, and other things from the darkness.
It can give children nightmares.

I don't debate, just posting my belief about Halloween. Just as In Awe of Him and everyone else has.

We all have our beliefs
It doesn't matter who agrees or disagrees.

Please respect each other, and their right to have their belief.

Dear Cosia;

I'm blessed you have jumped in to support our sister, in love.

Major's thread of Halloween wasn't intended to be a debate. He made that clear in his introduction, and was seeking our response to this annual event. It is important to think about as Halloween approaches us end of October.

This has stimulated opinions, agreements and disagreements but aside from a couple of sharp posts this topic has been overall civil in the fellowship, coming from our brothers and sisters from various places where we live and that's a good thing.

For the most part we all have prayerfully posted and those prompted to respond have attempted to keep the fruit of fellowship, and learning in our forum.

Thank you for sharing, Cosia, "We all have our beliefs It doesn't matter who agrees or disagrees."

In the Gospels of Matthew, Mark and Luke, Jesus teaches us; "those who have ears to hear" is vital as part of our discipleship in all things we face, events and beliefs in Christ, including listening to what we read.

God bless everyone in this fellowship.

Bob

Hi Bob
By saying I do not debate, I was meaning I would not be arguing if anyone disagreed with me.

I Didn't even mention Major, or anyone else.

I do not understand who I could have offended. I was stating my beliefs.

God Bless
