my Senior pastor stated once in his life had to assist in a so called exorcism, and that was very nasty dealings, a prolonged confict, and he never really has shared what really happened to the pastors that were involved
Demons are very real, and the destruction they cause is for the gain of satan. Make no mistake, those that have had experiences with them rarely discuss it. The world does not believe that our Father in the name of His Son Jesus Christ, has the power to cast them out. Therefore, they do not believe demons have any power on earth. That is a dangerous view. What belongs to our Father, does not belong to satan. The two cannot exist in one body.
Please ask elder male pastors about this subject for your further study, if genuinely concerned.
I just wonder how much of what we attribute to drugs and alcohol and mental illness issues might involve the demonic, but also aware that sometimes demons are blamed for nearly anything, and problem is that the individual just wishes to keep on sinning themselves and feed their sin natures.Demons are very real, and the destruction they cause is for the gain of satan.

Think it was CS lewis that stated satan wants us to hold either extreme view on Him and his activities, one would be does not exist, all made up, or else he causes everything bad that happens, and that he is essential God powerfulGood morning, thenami;
Amen. Every Christian experiences the attacks of the devil, perhaps not as intense like the movies of "over sensationalism," but it can happen.
Every man and woman who receives Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior will battle spiritual warfare, battling against the devil.
I have never performed an exorcism but have had countless one on one meetings and prayers with men and women over the most extreme circumstances.
I can't measure the minimum or maximum spiritual attacks. There are so many various ways we experience principalities of darkness. A battle is a battle and it's our call to stand firm against the evil one, and in some cases if that means seeking help from minister, as YeshuaFan pointed out.
thenami makes a good suggestion about asking our ministers regarding this subject, or for further study.
God bless you all.

If one is not saved and indwelt by the Holy Spirit, think both drugs and alcohol can give someone "altered states", and ripe to have demonic attacks and strongholdsdevil only puts it in front of us with temptation.. until one has been in the drug and alcohol world they can never understand it .. i am 64 still have friends in the alcohol drug world . live hard and they die hard
they attack the christian alsoIf one is not saved and indwelt by the Holy Spirit, think both drugs and alcohol can give someone "altered states", and ripe to have demonic attacks and strongholds
True, but the Holy Spirit keeps them from getting inside, and we have authority in Jesus thru the Holy Spirit to 'deal with them", which the unsaved do not have access tothey attack the christian also
Hello Naaman;
Wow! What an opportunity to deliver your message to these men and women. There may have been a reason the young woman was disruptive regardless of her condition.
The message was getting through to the gathering, therefore, the devil was threatened. When your pastor encouraged you to keep going, whatever the interruption including the spilt soda and paper towels, it subsided.
On a side note, my wife and I visited New England one October 2003 and stayed in Portsmouth, NH. We were so impressed by it's beauty that we wanted to move there.
God bless you, brother, and thank you for sharing.

One of Satan's biggest schemes is to deceive people into believing he doesn't exist. The Exorcist made it seem ridiculous to believe Satan and his demons actually exist. But, as I reflect on what transpired in my folks' lives, I see spiritual attacks galore. My wife and I have discussed their careers serving the Lord and there's no doubt Satan was busy attacking them.
Happened some similar to my friend and myself, as went into a local jail in downtown Saginaw Mi every other Thursay for 2 hours, prayed and taught scriptures, and one time there was a black muslim who came in and tries to yell and act up in the meeting, but one happened was that one of the biggest convicts there told him to please shut up, as he wanted to hear about Jesus and getting saved nowI had an interesting incident a couple years ago when I was preaching a mini sermon at a nursing home. I am NOT a pastor. However, my pastor has been preparing me to teach and become an Elder in the coming years.
I was teaching about baptism to a group of about 20 elderly Christians. While I was speaking, a woman came in and sat down at one of the tables. She was notable because we had never seen her before during the prior weeks visiting the home. Also, she appeared a tad too young to be in the nursing home. But perhaps she had some disability?
About 1 minute in and while I was proclaiming Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, she cracked open a can of soda and "accidentally" spilled it all over the table. I stopped talking and ran to grab towels. I found a roll of paper towels in the kitchen and began to sop up the mess. Expecting at least a hint of thanks, instead I was met with angry eyes and monotone voice complaining, "I need REAL towels". I apologized and said this is all I could find.
I started over from the beginning. As soon as I began to speak of Jesus again, the woman began having a violent coughing fit. If I weren't in a nursing home, I would have assumed someone was exaggerating the coughing to be ridiculous. I looked at my pastor and he motioned to keep going. So I raised my voice even louder and kept talking over her coughing. Once she stopped the coughing, she abruptly got up and left. Never saw her again.
Afterwards, I joked to my pastor that if I didn't know any better, there was a demon inside her. He said not to laugh as he wouldn't be surprised if that's exactly what it was.
I think about that moment often. I suspect the woman was perhaps mentally ill and not quite with it. But who knows. It was odd, that's for sure.
