Jeremiah 20:11-13

Jeremiah 20:11-13

But the LORD is with me as a mighty terrible one: therefore my persecutors shall stumble, and they shall not prevail: they shall be greatly ashamed; for they shall not prosper: their everlasting confusion shall never be forgotten.

But, O LORD of hosts, that triest the righteous, and seest the reins and the heart, let me see thy vengeance on them: for unto thee have I opened my cause.

Sing unto the LORD, praise ye the LORD: for He hath delivered the soul of the poor from the hand of evildoers.

Amen

"But, O LORD of hosts, that triest the righteous, and seest the reins and the heart, let me see thy vengeance on them: for unto thee have I opened my cause."
This quote above from your post---is it safe to assume that scripture here is speaking of those who claim to be self-righteous in their own eyes? not those whom God has made righteous by His Son Jesus Christ?
If it is the latter, why would the Lord have vengeance on them?

"On them" is referring back to verse 11 the persecutors. God is with Jeremiah causing his persecutors to stumble and not prevail. verse 6 tells us that Pashur and all that dwell in his house were Jeremiah's persecutors.

Pashur was a priest in Judah, but wasn't following God.
