Judgement of Christians
I was reminded reading Dusty's thread on "Pearls before swine" how careful we should be not to be judgemental about other people. Not critical evaluation of what is said, but that judgement that breaks people down.
I have been reading recently in 2 Corinthians, for some preaching engagements, and was reminded that we as Christians will face a judgement. (see 2 Cor. 5:10 and 1 Cor. 3:11-15).
This judgement cannot put our eternal salvation in peril for as we read in Rom 8:1 "There is now no comdemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus". The verdict has been given on the basis of Christ's perfect rightousness, which is credited to us.
This judgement is the judgement of our loving Heavenly Father. Our service will be judged, and if our service survives the fire of the Father's searching eye then we will receive a reward (see v.14), but if not then we will suffer loss.
The way we have acted as stewards of our talents, gifts, opportunities, ministry, witness etc., will all be assessed by our Heavenly Father.
I believe that sometimes we need a timely reminder that our lives our witness and our stewardship is all under the eternal eye of God. Not that we should fear, but that we should strive to serve him better.
God bless us as we learn together.
