Living for oneself means that we live just to do what we want, we do whatever makes us happy regardless of whether or not it is acceptable to God or makes Him or others upset or sad. We care only for our own interests. Like being self centered. Everything revolves around us and what we want.

As Christians we need to rebuke being selfish.
We need to follow Christs leadership, help others in great need and think more about others.
