Living in Amazing Times

We are living in amazing times as we see prophecy come true right before our eyes:

2 Timothy 3:1-9, 13-17
1 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,
4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.
6 For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts,
7 Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.
8 Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith.
9 But they shall proceed no further: for their folly shall be manifest unto all [men], as theirs also was. ...
13 But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.
14 But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned [them];
15 And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.
16 All scripture [is] given by inspiration of God, and [is] profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

There is so much more we can glean from scripture of these last days and the turning away that's been going on for some time now.

Perhaps God ordained the advent of Postmodernism into Western society for just this time. Postmodernism, with insanity as its chief characteristic, is the perfect paradigm for introducing the period for the end times. It sure separates the goats from the sheep.

What are your thoughts about these times of ours?

Very true.

The Word of God tells us about a time when people will be divided into two groups.
It also speaks about a time when people will be persecuted.
In addition, the Bible speaks about a time when people will be judged.

The Bible has a lot to say about the times we are living in. It teaches that there will be a time of Tribulation and then of great tribulation, and that Jesus will return to earth to set things right.
In addition, the Bible teaches that there are different levels of heaven and hell, and that we all have a responsibility to live ethically and do good deeds.

In addition, the Bible speaks about other times in which we are living, such as the time of the Gentiles. This is a time when the world will be ruled by the Gentiles, and Israel will be restored.

IMHO we are now living in a TRANSITION PEROID. That is not a Bible idea it is my idea.
Look around you today. The world is changing rapidly, and many things that were once considered normal are now seen as dangerous. Those of us who are approaching 80 years old remember when a telephone was only owned by people with money. We remember when there were NO TV sets. But today we see the rise of terrorism and the spread of diseases that were not in existance.

The Bible is full of advice on how to prepare for the times we are now in. It teaches that we should be humble, repent of our sins, and trust in God and accept the Lord Jesus Christ. It also warns us about the dangers of sin and the coming of the Lord. In these times, we need to be prepared for the coming of the Lord, and we can learn a lot from the Bible about how to do this.

In these amazing times, we are being shown things that no expositor in the past, of which I am aware, was shown and taught the things that are coming to light right now. For example:

Revelation 5:8-10
8 And when he had taken the book, the four beasts and four [and] twenty elders fell down before the Lamb, having every one of them harps, and golden vials full of odours, which are the prayers of saints.
9 And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation;
10 And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth.

Never, and I mean never, did the Lord ever inspire it to be written that neither the nation of Israel, nor the angels, were ever addressed as being kings and priests unto God. Never once, and never even hinted at. The nation Israel HAD priests, but the people themselves are never at any time referred to as priests nor kings. They WANTED an earthly king, which is a huge distinction since followers of Christ have a King...who is...what? King (Christ) of kings (the Church).

Studying the Bible in-depth rather than just reading through it is the only way one will dredge up these wondrous truths.

The Old Testament is the New Testament hidden.
The New Testament is the Old Testament revealed.
One book.

Those 24 elders, therefore, can ONLY be indicative of the Church, comprised of Jews and Gentiles who believe upon Christ Jesus as Messiah, rather than any other grouping throughout all of history. The Tribulation saints are shown to be distinctive from the Church, and therefore not a part of the Church in Heaven.

Jesus is Lord.

Amen

Oh, and some may ask how only 24 elders can be representative of the Jews and Gentiles who comprise the Church in this Church Age.

Revelation 5:8-10
8 And when he had taken the book, the four beasts and four [and] twenty elders fell down before the Lamb, having every one of them harps, and golden vials full of odours, which are the prayers of saints.
9 And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation;
10 And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth.

It's pretty much a given that there have been and are FAR more than just 24 kindreds, tongues and nations throughout this earth, and that have therefore existed on this earth throughout the Church age. So, rather than to belabor the actual numbers by John counting them for the sake of his recording what he haw and heard in the Revelation , he represents them by way of speaking along the line of 24 elders.
