I think that your comment has a YES and a YES answer.

Yes in that those who are lost will loose "everything" when Jesus comes, either at death, the Rapture or the 2nd Coming of Christ. All 3 of those events close the door of salvation to the lost who have heard the gospel but rejected it.

Then YES in that the Transfiguration fullfilled for the Apostles of that day. When Jesus was glorified along with 3 of his disciples present, this statement was fulfilled.

I would also say that the Transfiguration of Jesus does not prove nor set forth the diety of Christ. It sets for the HUMANITY of Christ. It was the proof of His humanity and the HOPE for humanity. The "Man" we see glorified there with his disciples is the kind of person that YOU and ME will be someday if we are a child of God through the "New Birth".

1 John 3:2........
" Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. "

sorry not anything to do with OP...

I don't always follow.. but those that are 'lost' may even be those who are in a church and hadn't confessed and repented of their sin of abusing someone.
Jesus did say of those people (Judas was one of them) that it was better they had not been born. Some do pretend to follow after God, but they are following their own bellies, and taking the Lord's name in vain. This was why in the NT Paul warned against false teachers.

People might reject a corrupt man-made church but rejecting Jesus is another matter, for He wouldn't do a thing like that.

Satan does imitate God and want to be God (even calling himself 'the god of this world') and may people are fooled. Satan likes to quote little bits of scripture out of context all the time. It would be like if you just cut the Bible up into little pieces and threw them around and said Oh but it says this but you've just cut a sentence out of the Bible at random without telling the whole story.

It's also kind of like when people pull out statistics to justify anything they say, thinking everyone's going to be impressed by the figures.
