It's very difficult to find a legitimate Christian band that I enjoy. I usually find the music cheap, pale derivatives of their genres. Christian music itself is either it's very own genre (one of which I just can't enjoy) or it's an attempt to sound like another genre but with Christian lyrics...and when this happens, it sounds more like a parody.
Christian music I genuinely enjoy are old hymnals, chants, and gospel bluegrass from the 30s and 40s.
Outside of that, I am a big fan of electronic (Futurecop, Anoraak, Grum, RAC), 70s punk (The Ramones, the Dictators, Television), 1950s and 60s bands and singers (Frankie Avalon, Bobby Rydell, Annette Funicello, Chuck Berry, Dion and the Belmonts), and a lot of other stuff.
Just now, I was listening to the Smashing Pumpkins. Growing up in the 90s, I was very selective of grunge. I love grunge but I can't stand Nirvana. But Smashing Pumpkins have always been a favorite when it came to grunge. While they did give a sense of angst and sadness in some of their songs, they balanced it very well with hopeful songs. This is one of my favorites of theirs.
