OK. Do you have proof this nativity is on private property? The SCOTUS decisions are easy enough to find. The Mayor should stand up out of duty, not coercion. If we have unassailable proof the crowing against the scene is unlawful that helps fortify our position. Also there's a second and even equal option that may serve to send a message to others of that same crowing intention. Counter sue! Violation of private property rights, violation of 1st amendment rights, violation of the SCOTUS decisions related to these type issues. Time maybe for the sheep to show the wolves we have teeth too.
its at a city owned park read my updateAlso, how can we obtain proof the nativity is on private land?
I read that earlier in the thread. I thought someone said the spot where the nativity is was privately owned?its at a city owned park read my update

You can put one up on your front lawn surely. if you have one. Other people put up lights and santas.
yes man you are %100 right John 10:9 I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.Didn't he say 'I am the door'

i like your observation . it seems some people are not happy and want to be hateful.. to me its just a nativity scene . there is no sign that says worship here. its a figurine used to reminds of the true meaning of Christmas.
yet those opposed take Christmas off and shop for presents
I used to live in Riverside and remember this when it happened. I live in central California now but there used to be a lighted cross off the 91 freeway near Corona. Is that still there? I think that one is already on private church land so I’m guessing (and hoping) it still glows brightly every night.There was a similar issue in my home town (Riverside, California).
This time it centered around the cross on the top of Mount Rubidoux, which is now a county park.
There were Anti-Christian efforts to have the cross removed.
This is cross is a true landmark and is the site of Easter Sunrise services (I believe it has the longest unbroken history of such celebration in the US). It also commemorates the period in California history when the Catholic Church sent missionaries and explorers all through California, so it has true historical and cultural significance.
I used to climb the mountain ( hill ) the night before Easter and spend the night with others in prayer and song, etc) with a multi-church service at sunrise.
Anyway, there was a controversy about the cross on public land. So... several churches in the area made bids to purchase the cross and surrounding area.

Oh yes, I remember Sun City. I didn’t go there much but I remember it’s presence.Hello, Skipper;
Do you remember a senior living community in Riverside called Sun City?
there's not much said about that. i am sure something of that nature in a government building or school would hear about it. at the moment our government is focused on any thing is related to the confederate . any symbol statueWhat about windows that have cross frames are they allowed?

I now live in rural Maryland. I haven't been back 'home' since my dad passed in 2004. So I can't tell you if it's there or not.I used to live in Riverside and remember this when it happened.
