No One Can Save Himself

Since God has fixed the creature so that he cannot save himself and needs another to save him, it is obvious that the Christ-Life in that creature could never be withheld because of the creatures failure or sin.
So also Christ finds His greatest triumph and glory in the sphere of human helplessness.
This is the great difference between the Christ Life and religion. Religion means in its simplest definition, "man doing something to please God."
On the other hand, the issue of Satan being the sinner in the creature must be confronted.
Satan, as the sinner, must be disposed of forever.
1st John 3:8 tells us that it was Satan who was the sinner from the beginning.
When Adam and Eve believed what Satan said in the Garden of Eden, there was birthed in them the Satan nature.
At the time, they, being without any nature at all, awaiting the moment that their minds came to believe what truth they were to be identified with, were subtly and deceitfully taken over by Satan's nature.
However, Christ, the Lamb of God, came into the world and took away the sin of the world by His vicarious work at Calvary.

' ... On the other hand, the issue of Satan being the sinner in the creature must be confronted.
Satan, as the sinner, must be disposed of forever ...
'.
'He that committeth sin is of the devil;
for the devil sinneth from the beginning.
For this purpose the Son of God was manifested,
that He might destroy the works of the devil.

(1John 3:8)

'For from within,
out of the heart of men,
proceed evil thoughts,
adulteries, fornications, murders, '

(Mark 7:21)

'Let no man say when he is tempted,
"I am tempted of God:"
for God cannot be tempted with evil,
neither tempteth He any man:
But every man is tempted,
when he is drawn away of his own lust,
and enticed.
Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin:
and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.'

(Jas 1:13-15)

Hello @Noblemen,

The verses above came to my mind when I read the extract from your entry (above).

Will you explain what you mean by your words, quoted above, please?
For it sounds as though you are saying that it is Satan within the sinner that sins and not the sinner himself.

Thank you.

We are as guilty as He, because we were partakers. We lived by that nature, but it was our nature not us. This is what I was trying to explain in dividing soul and spirit.
It's much deeper than I can share in a paragraph.
Just as we are partakers now of the nature of God by Christ, so it was then. We partook of the sin nature and thought it was us.
We are created in the image and likeness of God, we were not created to contain the death life. But we inherited it from the first Adam.

Hello again, @Noblement,

'And you hath He quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins;
Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world,
according to the prince of the power of the air,

the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:
Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh,
fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind;
and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.

But God, who is rich in mercy,
for His great love wherewith He loved us,
Even when we were dead in sins,
hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)
And hath raised us up together,
and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:
That in the ages to come He might shew
the exceeding riches of His grace
in His kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.
For by grace are ye saved through faith;
and that not of yourselves:-
it is the gift of God:
Not of works, - lest any man should boast.'
(Eph 2:1-9)

Praise God!

Thank you Noblemen.

We are as guilty as He, because we were partakers. .

We sin because sinning feels good and we enjoy the feeling.
If sin didnt feel good, then who would commit it?
What separates a believer from an unbeliever is not only the power to stop sinning, but a knowledge of how good it is to be
free from the chains of sin.
Whereas an unbeliever is not aware of the chains, and in fact seeks to be more chained.
A believer says......"wow, i use to be like that, i use to DO that, i use to live for that....but now thank you JESUS that i dont even WANT THAT anymore"
The unbeliever thinks......"i'll have some more of THAT, as that is how being bound makes you think as you are blinded to the chains and lost in the darkness.

I would say to you that we sin because we are all sinners with a sin nature and when tempted we do what comes natural to us and that is to sin.

Obviously, no one can save himself (through good works, etc.),
but one can walk away from his salvation.

The born-again believer can:
-- commit the unpardonable sin
-- die with unforgiveness in his heart
-- not endure in his faith until the end of his life
(during the Great Tribulation, for example)
-- submit to taking the mark of the beast

These are examples from the NT where the believer can lose his salvation.
