PaducahLuke; My favorite Bible Verses

Proverbs 19:2 (WEB)

2 It isn’t good to have zeal without knowledge, nor being hasty with one’s feet and missing the way.

In this here verse, we are told that 'haste makes waste' and we are supposed to do things with diligence, so whatever we do turns out OK instead of rushing.

With that there in mind, I am gonna take a lesson from them snails around the trailer house here in Western Kentucky and do these verses nice and slow. Might not have one each and every day, but they will be my favorites when I add to this here thread of mine.

My favorite for November 3.

Romans 16:17-18 (WEB) - 17 Now I beg you, brothers, look out for those who are causing the divisions and occasions of stumbling, contrary to the doctrine which you learned, and turn away from them.
18 For those who are such don’t serve our Lord, Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by their smooth and flattering speech, they deceive the hearts of the innocent.

-------------------------------

I recon some folks still get taken in when they listen to the TV preachers and their smooth talk - spendin' 5 minutes on scriptures and 25 minutes tryin' to get you to send them money. Research each one and y'all may find out that the majority of 'em have been in trouble with the tax codes and non-profit statutes. Them so called preachers is probably gonna be judged harshly on Judgement Day. Use yer discernment and stay away from any that don't pass the smell test.

Oh my goodness... We are hearing from the back woods of Kentucky!!!!
OH JOY!!!!!!!!!

I reckon that everything that is NOT in the PUREST form of honesty and integrity is going to get it's eventual "day in court" ... so to speak.
I love that scripture states very DIRECTLY.... that GOD WILL NOT BE MOCKED!

This comforts me because from where I sit... I have heard many of these smooth talkers. I call them snake charmers.
I have noticed especially over this last decade... that many evil deeds done in the dark by prominent Christian leaders has been exposed and come to light in the form of REVELATION.

There is a saying... BEAUTY is as BEAUTY does.

Another favorite is in Proverbs 14:15 (WEB),
15 "A simple man believes everything,
but the prudent man carefully considers his ways."

------------------------
Brings to mind the manipulation of persons by much of the commercial and social media and why it's so important to think for yourself.

I like Psalm 4:1 (WEB) because it is a reminder that God hears our prayers and is there for us.
____________________________

Psalm 4:1 (WEB)
1 Answer me when I call, God of my righteousness.
Give me relief from my distress.
Have mercy on me, and hear my prayer.

`

Another verse that I read often is in Genesis 8. It talks about the Flood and how Noah, his family and all the creatures on the Ark went about their business after the water receded. In Genesis 8:22, God made a promise to manage the earth for all the critters and man.

Genesis 8:22 (WEB)

22 While the earth remains, seed time and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night will not cease.”

We should all thank Him for giving us a nice place to live, filled with lots of natural beauty.

When we listen to someone preachin' God's Word and we hear somethin' that just don't seem right, we should make note of what was said and get our favorite Bible out and check up on it. Knowin' the difference between proper and false teachings might take some studyin', but it's what we have to do to know God's Truth.

Matthew 7:15 (WEB), "“Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly are ravening wolves."

`

1 Corinthians 16:14 (WEB) is a good one to remember - especially these here days when politics has even divided families.

14 "Let all that you do be done in love."

We all have our own beliefs and values, but I recon that it's about time that folks set aside them differences and get along with each other.

That must have reminded Chaucer when he wrote "the truth shall set you free".

Truth: A Middle English Ballade of Good Counsel by Geoffrey Chaucer

Flee the crowd and dwell securely in trueness.
Let your own suffice, though it not be much,
for greed leads to hate and grasping to coldness;
the crowd leads to envy, and wealth deceives such
as hold too tightly everything they touch.
Rule yourself well, that others clearly see,
and have no doubt: the truth shall set you free.

Don’t try to amend all that is amiss,
trusting that Lady who spins like a ball;
true rest lies in spurning busyness.
There’s no sense in kicking the point of an awl
nor in the crock’s struggle against a wall.
Rule yourself, you who rule others’ deeds,
and have no doubt: the truth shall set you free.

Take what is sent to you in obedience;
struggle, for this world surely begs a fall.
We have no home here, only wilderness.
Go forth, pilgrim! Go forth, beast, from your stall!
Know our true home and thank the God of all.
Hold your course and follow your spirit’s lead,
and have no doubt: the truth shall set you free.

Ephesians 5:19-20 (WEB) means a whole lot to me on this here Thanksgiving Day.

19 speaking to one another in psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs; singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord; 20 giving thanks always concerning all things in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, to God, even the Father;

There's a life style here in Kentucky that is based on God's Word in everything that we and our family's do. We love God and Christ and we are Believers and Faithful. We work hard and we go to Church on Sunday and we Praise Our Father.

Hebrews 1:1 (WEB) - Now faith is assurance of things hoped for, proof of things not seen.

Today is Christmas Day and these verses makes me and the family happy and content.

Luke 2:8-14 (ESV)
8
And in the same region there were shepherds out in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. 9 And an angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were filled with great fear. 10 And the angel said to them, “Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. 11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. 12 And this will be a sign for you: you will find a baby wrapped in swaddling cloths and lying in a manger.” 13 And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying,

14 “Glory to God in the highest,
and on earth peace among those with whom he is pleased!

A Merry Christmas to y'all and God Bless on this here special day.
