Poem#86 Scraping The Bottom

Poem#86 Scraping The Bottom

Genesis to Revelation

Scripture is proven over & over again to those that Trust

When His People, His Children fall to their Spiritual knees

The Lord Our God will hear & Remind us He’s Our Shepherd

When we’re scrapping the bottom of the barrel of flour & oil

The Lord will show up asking to make Him raisin cake of faith

Jesus is asking to Trust Him with all that we have left

Flipping through the pages through stories of exampled faith

Even before black & white letters they had to Believe in God

Only having heard about the God of Abraham, Isaac & Jacob

Never just stories of the People we read, as they’re it Before Us

Showing the Goodness of the Lord is patient as we Learn to Trust

Confirmation for Gideon is proof that the Lord has time to wait

What we read or Listen through the Word that’s Living constantly

Didn’t happen instantly as turning pages, only through His fingers

Does the Lord turn Our pages as written before we’re even Born

The Lord our Shepherd knows exact moment we’ll scrape bottom

Whether our own pit we’ve fallen in by pride or by the fear of nothing

The oldest Lie that Eve fell for in Eden doesn’t have to be Ours Fall

The Cross that held the Hands of Jesus is our East to West reminder

By the nails of Nothingness we’re given the chance to have Everything

Like we did before the Thief stole through a Lie Believed

Trust the Lord after falling on our Spiritual knees & saying His Name

Jesus hears His Name & is Saving what we didn’t know needed saving

We’ve never had to worry about the Bottom, as we’ve been at the Top

The Lord’s Our Shepherd, has always been the Joy we count on

When we’re content with Jesus being our Friend our Heart’s Happy

We’ve been scrapping the Top of His Love by the bottom of Our Faith

Imagine through that Faith what will happen if Trust to the Top

Like Those gone before us if Only we would believe we’re enough

The Faith we have is Enough to move Mountains as Jesus Said

Hello Walker;

When I read the part about scraping the bottom of the barrel of flour and oil, this week a friend went through an interview and vetting process of getting hired for a youth director position. She was shocked to learn just last Saturday that her interview went abruptly awry by the spiritual leaders.

She felt like she hit the bottom after 2 1/2 months of interviews and progressive next steps. She is deeply hurt and is wiping the mud off her shirt as she pulls herself together.

All along she trusts the Lord though she didn't know the interview would spiral from her last 3 hour meeting.

With Jesus we're always at the top, faithwise, but from time to time we have to deal with the bottom. Good thing is He's with us no matter top to bottom to top.

Our friend will be ok and feels there are lessons to learn from the Lord.

Please remember our friend in your prayers.

God bless you, Kyle.

Bob

Hey Bob, 1st Kings 17:8-16 is one of my favorite stories and it’s what came to my mind while writing, how the Widow was down to the bottom of the barrel, until God heard her prayers and sent Elijah.
Also came to mind the lies satan tells in trying to convince we don’t have enough for Jesus to use, when Truth says we have more then enough through Grace.
Feel free to copy and send the poem to your friend, maybe was meant for her.
