It would be worth the hassle to support yourself biblically. We are discussing matters that affect our spiritual well-being. Wouldn't you want to be on a right footing with God?

in order to be on the correct footing with God I would need understanding

some of that would require God that showing me that he loves me enough to give me clear instruction. That is not the same as a Christian telling me I know the answers to your confusion, listen to me because I said so ,therefore God has spoken to you.

Understanding comes from walking with Jesus and getting into His word.

You shouldn't look a gift horse in the mouth.
