Praying for a Grumbling America

Jesus said to preach the gospel to the ends of the earth...so its not like he's saying pray only for your own nation. He came as a light to the Gentiles, meaning everyone who isn't a Jew or Israelite. Unless you are Jewish or Israeli that includes you and me...wherever we are in the world!

Hello brothers and sisters;

I didn't know this topic would have so many good posts. Thanks, everyone, for sharing.

I agree with Lanolin. We are to pray for the nations on all four corners of the earth. Last Saturday I was honored to pray for the circumstances in our own backyard, our country. Pray for all nations as well as praying for your own country.

I know and see the issues in America but not as well as your respective country's circumstances.

From reading everyone's posts there are many problems in America. But instead of the nation coming together to pray there are deafening ears to God's command. Prayer is a way of daily communicating with Him.

Luke 18:1, And he told them a parable to the effect that they ought always to pray and not lose heart.

Ephesians 6:18, praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end, keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints,

Someone mentioned whining. This equates to grumbling and bemoaning. I personally know Christians who are still dwelling on things past, mostly with people. When prayer decreases, unforgiveness, despair and hopelessness increases. Other Christians are always looking for a fight. This is easy because the gate is wide.

But seriously, believers who choose to walk the narrow gate are built up (God's work) with a spiritual instinct. Though obstacles (the most pressing and worse) will happen in our daily walk, Jesus knew this and taught us to exercise effective and constant prayer. This is when the Armor of God go to work.

God bless you all.

Yes, you touched on a nerve. We all are affected by this and do it ourselves, way too much.
