Can anyone tell me what Hillary Clinton offers us? Why should I be interested in voting for her?
I am also interested in the above question answered about Sanders.
I would never vote for either, but I do believe in being even handed and trying to understand what the other side sees as value to their world view.
To my understanding, she would push for some sort of government requirement for employers to pay women the same amount as men who have the same job. Sounds fair, but as usual does not take into account the individual circumstances of these employees. Such as, how long have they been doing the job, how productive is each employee, how well do they know the finer points of the job and do they bring other expertise to the job, can they be trusted to be in charge of other employees, etc.
I fear that should this become law, women may have a harder time finding work because employers fear being stuck with an employee who makes an inflated wage, and on top of that, employers will then have to fire women who, for whatever reason, are not as productive as the other men and women doing that job, since they cannot pay her less and allow her to keep her job.
I guess we will just see a lot more specialization of jobs to allow for the less skilled to still have jobs.
So, equal pay is one issue. The usual promotion of the standard Democratic line. She'll push for allowance for rights to abortion for any reason, universal health care, higher taxes on anything or anyone who has too much income which makes her voters happy, and basically continuing what Obama has been doing.
I have seen her proposal to invest in more solar panels for energy. That may be a good one. Who knows who that will benefit though. Solar energy companies? Will we have "Big Solar" now? Solar works best where you have more sunshine. So only southern states will benefit? It really depends on how this is done.
The big question is what will she do about ISIS and the war on terror. Many people do not know she was a Republican as a teen and supported and campaigned for Barry Goldwater. So she could go rogue and work with Republicans quite often to bolster her approval polls, just like her husband did.
