Psalms 1:1

Psalms 1:1

Psalms 1:1
What does this verse mean? Could it also mean going to clubs and bars and being among drunk people and people in temptation etc or am I totally off track?

It's pretty plain, isn't it, oogi? Here's the Amplified version of it:

1[a]BLESSED (HAPPY, fortunate, prosperous, and enviable) is the man who walks and lives not in the counsel of the ungodly [following their advice, their plans and purposes], nor stands [submissive and inactive] in the path where sinners walk, nor sits down [to relax and rest] where the scornful [and the mockers] gather.

It makes the world envy the man who refuses to sit down with those who are not so blessed.

That is very true. Life is easier if you do not follow the advice of the ungodly or persistent sinner, especially when you are use to walking righteously, and wisely. Performing their advice is dreadful, when you already know a better way, so don't waste time even listening to them. It is better to not even submit to them. They will literaly destroy your life.

Read the whole psalm to put it in context!

Either we follow the way of God or we follow the way of unrighteousness.

This is not just limited to being drunk or going to night clubs, it encompasses our whole lives.

Do we Love God with all our hearts and minds?
Do we love our neighbour as ourselves?
