Raised Up With Christ
Acts 1:10And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel; 11Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.
The angels told them He would return in like manner. Wouldn’t that be a sight to see! But even more awesome is one day we too will be raised up to meet Him in the air, when mortality puts on immortality! How glorious that will be!
1 Thessalonians 4:16For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: 17Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord
We celebrated the resurrection of the Lord. God raised up Jesus in all His glory to sit at His right hand.
Romans 8:11But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.
He shall quicken our mortal bodies and this corruptible will put on incorruption. Not only will we be raised up physically like Jesus was, but even now He quickens our body when we call on Him for healing. It is changed and made whole by that blood that flowed from those stripes they put on his back for our healing.
Not only was Christ raised, but WE were raised up spiritually. We already “ have” been raised up, past tense. He quickened our sprit and we are live in Him. That resurrection power is in us!
Ephesians 2:5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved) 6And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:
Ephesians 1:19And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power, 20Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places, 21Far above allprincipality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come: 22And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church, 23Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.
If earth is His footstool and we are the body of Christ, then we are not “under the circumstances” as some say, but the devil is under our feet. When we realize this, we can be lifted up above the circumstances, far above the power of the enemy and can walk in that victory because we are seated with Him! The power of Satan is broken and we are no longer under his dominion, for our spirit, soul, and body now belongs in Christ. We are not in his kingdom now but in the Kingdom of God and have already passed from death to life, past tense. Eternal life begins now when we receive Jesus, and continues on for eternity.
Colossians 1:12Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light: 13Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: 14In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins
John 5:24Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.
1 Peter 2:9But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light; 10Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy.
