God commands the light to shine out of darkness. This Light that shines in our hearts will also shine towards the mortal body where the Life of Jesus that is within manifests also in our flesh so that others may see.
2 Corinthians 4:6-11 KJV
(6) For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.
We have this treasure in earthen vessels so that the excellency of the power of God may be displayed and is not of us.
(7) But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.
Our earthen vessels are to bear about the dying of the Lord Jesus so that His life also might be made manifest….that is, to SHINE…..in our mortal body.
(8) We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair;
(9) Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed;
(10) Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body.
(11) For we which live are alway delivered unto death for Jesus' sake, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our mortal flesh.
Gideon and the 300 men blew the trumpets (preached the Lord Jesus) and “broke the pitchers” so that the lamps were revealed. We also are to preach the good news of our Lord (blowing the trumpet) and suffer His persecution by those who will not believe so that the life of Jesus shall SHINE in our mortal flesh.
Judges 7:18-20 KJV
(18) When I blow with a trumpet, I and all that are with me, then blow ye the trumpets also on every side of all the camp, and say, The sword of the LORD, and of Gideon.
(19) So Gideon, and the hundred men that were with him, came unto the outside of the camp in the beginning of the middle watch; and they had but newly set the watch: and they blew the trumpets, and brake the pitchers that were in their hands.
(20) And the three companies blew the trumpets, and brake the pitchers, and held the lamps in their left hands, and the trumpets in their right hands to blow withal: and they cried, The sword of the LORD, and of Gideon.
His Light within shall shine when we bear about the dying of our Lord Jesus in the body….the “pitcher”…the earthen vessel. Our “pitchers” are to be “empty” of all malice and evil. They are to be “broken” so that His life shall be manifested in our mortal bodies.
Judges 7:16 KJV
(16) And he divided the three hundred men into three companies, and he put a trumpet in every man's hand, with empty pitchers, and lamps within the pitchers.
We are to be “empty pitchers”….humbling ourselves and becoming obedient unto death…..even the death of the cross. We are to also EMPTY ourselves and follow Him in His footsteps…… “let this mind be in you, which also was in Christ Jesus”.
Philippians 2:5-11 KJV
(5) Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:
(6) Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:
(7) But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:
(8) And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.
(9) Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:
(10) That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;
(11) And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
We are to be faithful unto His death…..as when He was reviled, He did not revile again. When He suffered, He threatened not. No deceit also was found in His mouth. We are to be obedient to His death by dying to sin so that we may LIVE unto righteousness….for we will be persecuted by those who will not believe…from our very own just as Jesus was persecuted by His own.
1 Peter 2:21-25 KJV
(21) For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps:
(22) Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth:
(23) Who, when he was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered, he threatened not; but committed himself to him that judgeth righteously:
(24) Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.
(25) For ye were as sheep going astray; but are now returned unto the Shepherd and Bishop of your souls.
Why do we not see His life being made manifest among the many? Because those who are perishing are following men who are preaching themselves and not our Lord Jesus. They preach for money….preaching themselves…as they walk in craftiness handling the Word of God deceitfully.
2 Corinthians 4:1-5 KJV
(1) Therefore seeing we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, we faint not;
(2) But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God.
(3) But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost:
They are “lost”…that is, PERISHING from off this earth in their peddling of the Word of God. They follow after their own bellies….their covetousness which blinds their minds so that the Light of the glorious gospel who is the image of the invisible God should shine toward them. they are not being irradiated by His light. the Life of Jesus is not being manifest in their mortal flesh as they perish from off the earth. They are suffering loss and all of those who are sitting with them are also perishing.
(4) In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.
(5) For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus' sake.
We are to awake and rise from the "dead" so that His Light should shine in us.
Ephesians 5:14 KJV
(14) Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light.
God will "think" upon us = should SHINE unto us....so that we PERISH NOT.
Jonah 1:6 KJV
(6) So the shipmaster came to him, and said unto him, What meanest thou, O sleeper? arise, call upon thy God, if so be that God will think upon us, that we perish not.
