Run the race with patience

how well are we running the race. are we striving to enter at the strait gate ? are we helping our brothers and sisters in this race. that are not running so well ?

this race begins the moment we get saved end the moment God call us out of this world . Paul imo the book of Hebrews writer.. wrote looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith . so in closing who are we looking to our Church the pastor or someone else.. keep our eyes on the prize Jesus . all other grounds are sinking sands .

i know subjects like this dont go very far .simply because it deals with us personally

Our race is ‘keeping yoked up with Jesus’…

Matthew 11:28-30 KJV
[28] Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. [29] Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. [30] For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

Romans 8:14 KJV
[14] For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

agreed it seems as some have dropped out of the race. last Sunday title was stay in the race . to run the race we are being conditioned .

Running the race...

This was Paul's picture of keeping faithful and putting God's will before ones' own desire and comfort, working diligently at the task the Lord set before the believer.

There are many that use the Bible to view those around them, often strictly judging them (which is God's office) and forget to use it as a mirror to peer into their own faith and practice.

While we must evaluate how we interact with which portions of society, running the race is less about the society and its lack of spirituality than it is about our footsteps as we run our race according to the Lord's leading.

Hello forgiven;

I love people but running the race with patience for me is easier said than done. Young people require a special patience whereas elderly people require a special patience. You have to switch gears of patience with both generations.

When we love, raise and serve our children by teaching, coaching, ministering and giving responsibility, we must keep in mind that they're growing in life and that alone is challenging to them.

1 Timothy 4:11-14, 11 Command and teach these things. 12 Let no one despise you for your youth, but set the believers an example in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, in purity. 13 Until I come, devote yourself to the public reading of Scripture, to exhortation, to teaching. 14 Do not neglect the gift you have, which was given you by prophecy when the council of elders laid their hands on you.

When we love, exhort and serve our elders we have to keep in mind they're getting older with physical and mechanical challenges. But God is not done with them yet as they continue to flourish.

Psalm 92:12-14, 12 The righteous flourish like the palm tree and grow like a cedar in Lebanon. 13 They are planted in the house of the Lord; they flourish in the courts of our God. 14 They still bear fruit in old age; they are ever full of sap and green,

These personal Scriptures remind me when I was a young whippersnapper and today it's humbling when younger men who are mechanically faster help me as I age in life and ministry.

Running the race...I have to set the pace in order to help both generations.
