Sabbath 10/4/201 Alfred Station SDB Pastor Corry sermon Our Calling II Timothy 4:3-1

There are three types of Callings:

1. Full time ministry calling:
   A man’s life is so impacted that he wants to serve God in full time ministry as Paul did. In verse 5, Paul said to watch, endure affliction and to do the work of an evangelist. Make proof of thy ministry. Whatever God calls you to do, you do it and do it fully.
   
2. Short time calling:
   Phillip met the Ethiopian who was reading Isaiah. Phillip spread the word thru the scriptures and then he was taken up and disappeared.
   Mordecai said to Esther that she had been put there as queen for that particular time. She was there to help the Children of Israel. God had put her there.
3. All Christians are called:
   I Cor. 1:26 You are to see your calling. There are not many fleshly wise or mighty people that are called. If you know Jesus as your Savior, you are called. God has things for you to do.

We are God’s workmen to do good works which God prepared in advance for us to do. God has great works for us to do in the future. We are all Christian missionaries. No one wants to join a team and sit on the bench!
